Commonwealth Bank Series

Can't see them giving up on the 4 specialist pacemen they have basically banked on that idea.
Watson looks like he'll be brought in on Sunday now that Symonds is injured so guess they could try him at 4 then.
How convenient... :spy

lol how did this match not count? lol
It's no World Cup final that's for sure.

I hate how they always give MOTM to batsmen.

He was dropped on 6. The other hundred was pretty good, but it didn't win them the game. Plunkett did.

Plunkett deserved it. The rest of them got a wicket each about but were expensive. You don't win matches with figures like those.

Well I think I've figured out the reason we won the Ashes in 2005 and lost them in 2006: Shaun Tait! We just love the boy - send him over and we'll give him one of those MBE things.
I wasn't expecting to have to wait til February for an England win on this tour but frankly I'll take whatever we can get...

Gilly going first ball was a heartbreaker and our best batsman of tonight going out and 4 wickets being down and still needing 180 odd to win is just a fair distance away.
We didn't look ourselves either. Ed Joyce rightfully deserved his MOM, he won the game for England if anything. If he had've gone out for 6, it could've been a similar game to the one in Adelaide.

I think it's quite obvious that Australia would have won that match if Jason Gillespie had played.

Infact had we known Aussies would be in such trouble, we could have leant you Oram.

I'm surprised South Australia can do anything substantial in One Day Cricket with Gillespie and Tait in the side. Oh, wait, they're bottom aren't they. Coincidence? I think not.

Receiving dropped catches is part of the game really, some days you're lucky, some days you are not. Plunkett's delivery to Gilchrist first up was an absolute gem but Joyce's innings was the match winner.

Quite simply, the selectors aren't going to pick Hogg as a number seven.

Well to me they will have to since pitches in the Carribean are more likely to be conducive to spin and he is a handy batsman. To me White is useless, he bowled okay today I guess but once again his reputation with the bat did not show again. He has had one decent innings in this series at Hobart and in that innings he was plumb LBW but was given not out.

Dizzy was good at his peak, not much good these days though.

lol well done to England. They played well. It was like it was engineered to be this way, so the Aus NZ match in Melb would be exciting, as well as making the series much more exciting. And since we don't know who's gonna face Aus in the finals now it was a great result to keep us all interested. Yea even I admit that another English collapse tonight would have seen another boring match, so in a way it was great Eng won. Especially since Aus have so many points :) Well let's see if NZ can win as well lol. Though I kinda hope not, so when Eng NZ face each other again they would be on even points, and make that game a thriller!

Maybe Flintoff should have got MOTM. He won the match with the toss?

Just my opinion that Plunkett deserved it.

Is anyone else sick of the bowlers not getting MOTM?

The funny thing is, the South Australian team could beat any domestic team England could dish up. Would even give your international side a run for it's money. Gillespie and Tait would be first and second selections in the England XI. Bad luck they're not English. They are both a hell of a lot better then Lewis and Mahmood.

In the 4 day comp they arn't badly placed. Remember, anyone can win an ODI on their day. You guys lost the test series 5-0. Nothing is worse then that. Nothing can make up for that (apart from maybe the World Cup, but i'd put all my belongings on them having no hope).

Yet, when Australia toured England, Somerset, Div Two in both forms of the game beat them. So how do we explain that? Oh wait, you're talking rubbish again.

Yes I agree completely! Even the idiotic commententators say the bowlers win matchs, coz they gotta take the 20 wickets, or 10 in a one dayer, yet batsmen win the motm!  :noway lol
