In terms of spinners you can always give Andy Flower the gloves and bowl Tatenda Taibu.
Exactly what I was planning ;)
And kudos to Michealelf who added Amar Singh:

I would have him too, over Srinath, Prasad and all those. Him, Dev and one more guy, I forget his name now, but he was a fast bowling allrounder for India. Ali something. Let me search. These three are the greatest seamers produced by India. And 2 of them can bat, so add in 2-3 spinners, a keeper, and your pick of legendary bats to have a near unbeatable lineup.
Here he is:

Syed Abid Ali.

Mohammad Nissar was better than them all barring Kapil Dev.

My All-Time Pakistan XI:

Saeed Anwar
Shoaib Mohammad
Younis Khan
Mohammad Yousuf
Inzamam-ul-Haq
Javed Miandad
Imran Khan*
Rashid Latif+
Wasim Akram
Saqlain Mushtaq
Waqar Younis

When's Inzy ever averaged 100 in a calendar year? Miandad is debateable but I'd take Yousuf over Inzy anyday.
Yousuf has a very poor record against in South Africa & Australia to be picked above Inzi.

you take Saqlain over Qadir? dont kno if i would have done that, Saqlain didnt last long enough in the international game for me to be considered better than Qadir.

At his peak,Saqlain was better than Warne & Murali even,so I would pick him above Abdul Qadir & Mushtaq Ahmed on anyday of the week.Above all,he has a better record than both of them.

Going in with just four bowlers? I'd take out one of the middle order batsmen and replace him with another pacer.

West Indies & Australia(at their peak),have always played with four specialist bowlers,so there's nothing wrong with doing that IMO when u have bowlers like Imran,Wasim,Waqar & Saqlain/Abdul Qadir in your team.

True. But I always prepare an all time XI thinking what their line up would be if they were playing other all time XI's. Bowling against all time batting attacks, those guys might need a fifth bowler IMO.

3 reverse swingers and 1 all out pacer and 1 of the best spinners ever
This team could actually challenge any other all time team purely cos of its bowling

I wonder how all these line ups would look like if people actually selected players for the positions they were/are good at. Yousuf has only ever played 2 innings at #3 and averaged 10. Zaheer Abbas opened 4 times and averaged 7, etc, etc.

Graham Hick???
Should be added to first post - Must have played for the team to be eligible for selection.

I'd have dropped Craig Evans and Grant Flower. Check my team a few pages back. Kevin Arnott and Andy Campbell in. Oh, and I would drop Hick for Taibu...

Hick has played 21 first-class and 21 List A games for Zimbabwe, and was in their 1983 World Cup Squad, though he didn't play a game. He is also currently eligible to represent them in international cricket.

Neil Johnson ". He played only for an year though (99-00) i guess. But dont knw what happened to him later? i.e i heard he was injured but later, donk knw why he didnt return to the team.

But he was very promising guy with both bat and ball. The way he played 99 world cup was Top class averaging 50+ with bat and 19 with ball

Also he had 11 fifties and 4 centuries for just 48 ODIs he played which seem to be a promising sign for a player!

I think he, like many other talented Zimbabwean cricketers had a falling out with the authorities and probably because he could earn much more money elsewhere.

The main problem is, none of Zimbabwe's best batsmen bowl even part time! Murray Goodwin and Alistair Campbell very, very rarely.

That is why I put Grant Flower in my team - check his stats, not a bad second spinner:

BB in a test innings 4/41
BB in a match 8/104

Probably places him better than Michael Vaughan and KP who both bowl for England as a second spinner
