Cricket 19 General Discussion

The improved fielding (better throwing) is excellent as is the AI running between wickets tweak...harder to bowl maidens but some hope of a run-out. In my first post-patch match (Career Mode) I saw, for the first time in over 64 hours of playing, an AI run out. I saw two in fact..one was fine the other was very curious as the batsman set off for a run pretty much as the ball reached the keeper's gloves...which was a little poor. That said, I haven't seen any other glitches on AI running and generally it seems much more authentic.

There are still some things I would like to see fixed. The teleporting wicket keeper being high on my list. He just slides at speed to get to the ball (traveling through stumps and batters, if needed) but never dives to left or right (or runs around physical objects to get to the ball). It would also be nice to have caught and bowled introduced as a possible dismissal for spin bowlers...I've not seen one chance (let alone a successful catch) in all the time I've played and it really isn't that uncommon a dismissal type for leg-spin. The fact that the bowler freezes for about 4 seconds after delivery is also frustrating. Although the AI bowler can dive to stop a ball or even catch it...this is not an option when I am bowling, which seems a little unfair.

An auto save after every over which over rides the previous overs save will be a divine addition for online games cause I have been having issues of game somehow going for infinite number of balls when sometimes a boundary will be registered as 8 runs if the fielder and ball touches the boundary rope at the same time. The game thinks it hits the boundary twice so 8 runs. But it also makes the over go infinite. An auto save would fix this issue all together. Please big ant otherwise it is kinda game breaking in online co-op pc.

In my ongoing one day game, so far into 41st over of bowling, there is absolutely no wearing noticeable with the ball. This is brand new game and after the latest update the revision level at 1.11 on PS4.

Anyone established if its safe to play against brute bowlers or on hard decks yet without ending up with 25-50 wides/byes?
Yes. I played against Australia on a hard pitch without a single buy from bouncer. Also the wicket keeper is not jumping/running towards the ball. But, now the 1st slip fielder will try to stop the ball by jumping behind the wicket keeper, if missed by wicket keeper.

On hard pitch they have reduced ball or pitch bounce... Because of this, spin bowling got impacted. Balls are coming very low for spin bowlers especially when they bowl short pitch.

Anyone seen highlights on xbox? The first few seconds is not showing for each highlight and because of this the main part of the highlight is missing... I mean ball hitting bat. Its definetly not like the way its showing in @Mohammed Sherry highlights.[DOUBLEPOST=1570904463][/DOUBLEPOST]Bowling line issue for left hand bowlers to right hand batsmen n vice versa is not completely fixed but it is not as bad as earlier. Still need tuning.

Edges are still flying to the boundary. Not all, but majority of the edges do reach the boundary, mostly one bounce.

Yes I have the problem on Xbox

The latest patch has improved the gameplay but the one thing which is holding the game back is the poor choice of fields/field sets which AI makes. As an example, I played a few ODI matches with the latest patch and saw that the fields the AI sets between overs 10-40 aren't that good, especially for the pacers. For spinners the fields are decent enough but work needs for the pace related field sets which AI selects.

For starters, quite often the field selected for pace bowlers between overs 10-40 have only 3 fielders in the outfield irrespective of the run rate and the match situation. Secondly the AI quite often selects a field which has no sweeper/boundary rider on the off side (Deep Cover or Deep Cover Point) which leads to easy boundaries and AI doesn't change the field despite boundaries through the area. IIRC the go to field which the AI sticks to is "PACE LO BAL 13" field. If this issue could be addressed and if the AI selects better fields, it would take the game to a different level altogether.

I think this topic needs a separate thread and will create one for discussion specific to AI fields and possible options to address the same.
