I think if you only bowl as a career player then bowling feels like a chore. I've tried to make ma guy a swing specialist but get hardly any deviation (having stepped up to county level) and my WK and slips have to be up on nearly every pitch otherwise I don't get the pace to carry.

However in my Essex tournament I am seeing much more swing and taking better wickets with Porter and Cook especially and with each of them being more effective depending on the surface. I think one of the key things is the game engine struggles to be optimal for both career and other professional games. It could well be this balancing act that gives us so many of the weirdo quirks (able to run three of a leg bye during an appeal coz it takes an age of any of the slips/WK to react for example).

Oh I see, AI difficulty? Like Pro, Veteran, Legend etc?

Yep.. So you leave the controller in the middle when selecting teams (but it still gives you all the options).

For me Pro gives the best balance, but bowling is slightly slow. I didn't want to mess around with the sliders too much. I may try upping bowling speeds to 50 and 60 for my next match

Been testing and some interesting things been popping up..

How many of you @blockerdave @Langeveldt @wasteyouryouth @Dutch has had LBW’a or Nicks when the bat is really close and tight to the pad such as the pics below. All are wickets!

Certainly all the wickets I've been getting have felt very authentic. There is the odd one where the keeper rushes in front of the batsman to take a popped up catch off the spinner that I don't like.

Dear All, Firstly I would like to thank you all for wonderful contribution. This forum is rivetting and a great read during such stressful times. Thank you so much for that.

I have been keenly following wasteyouryouth and others in tweaking the sliders. Do the sliders change for each pitch type? Also, can @wasteyouryouth or somebody share the full screenshot of what sliders you are using to enhance the game's realism? For example, I tweaked the spin flight slider to about 60 and it was extremely tough to play Imran Tahir. It really took the game to a whole new level in a spinning pitch. Much appreciated for the share and hard work! Cheers & stay safe.

Problem is, we are all vastly different in abilities when playing the game... So it's a tough one to answer. Just experiment a lot and make small changes, maybe every 10 overs, until you reach the sweet spot.

There's older stuff under wasteyouryouth1, more recent shares under wasteyouryouth. Searching for the latter should bring up everything. My retro stuff is wyyretro.

I find narrowing the parameters speeds things up. I've never had a problem searching.

Really weird, and changing cases brings up "no teams found with matching criteria". Searching for Pakistan with your name, nothing...

When I put no paramaters in and just search for teams, I get teams, but obviously that is anything and everything.

Might have to do with the fact I am in South Africa with average internet

I agree with Langeveldt. I've been playing computer cricket games for many years and I think Cricket 19 is superb and easily the best iteration of all games I have come across.

But it seems every one wants something diffferent from a game, so in that way, the developers will never be able to satisfy everyone. The joy of this game is that we can all 'make small changes' to get to what our individual 'sweet spot' is. It will never be perfect.

I play competitions I design myself with a team that plays against historical opponents and have many happy cricketing hours.

Yes there are annoyances (overthrows; crap/teleporting keeper; too many byes; too many spinners wides etc.) but will we always be looking for the next better game.

Sorry for the small rant.
