Cricket 19 General Discussion

What a joy to see Merv screaming towards you with the new ball of the first test!

Top effort Dave!

Oh @wasteyouryouth gets all the credit for Merv!!!

I actually created very few players and uniform logos...

My work on those teams is collation, skilling, and if you’re playing in the stadiums that came with them, most of the ad boards[DOUBLEPOST=1586979121][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh @Dutch if you’re doing the real ashes 90/91 I’ve created the umpires that stood in each test (actually the same 2 stood in all of the first 3, then different ones for the last 2)... all with shocking skills which makes no review tests fun!!

Mmm couldn't find Peter McConnell but will have a better look: posted a nice vid of Alderman snaffling Larkins in the second over in the gameplay vids thread!

As others have posted: I have put physics on default except for ball pace (71/70) and am just going to bloody well enjoy the game! :p

If it’s the only thing you change at all. I highly HIGHLY recommend tweaking ur pitch bounce so R1 clips top of stumps.

30 on a Grassy.
25 on Dusty at the moment.

6ft 4 bowlers were clipping top

X was back of a length
L1 X pushing them back a bit more.

if you try those then look at Hawkeye u can tweak
Will this also determine AI bowling bounce height?

Yes mate yeah.. also reduces back foot shots off this. Full is too full for me..[DOUBLEPOST=1586982803][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yeah.. I’d assume so.. means you got more chance of getting out LBW and bowled as well

so yeah this is what I’ve been saying all the time, default bounce is too high - that should be clipping the top of stumps, certainly in England. Instead even “shorter” full length will go over the top on default bounce

was worse in Ashes though because the AI bounce was totally different: what went over for the player would hit for the AI

This is broadly correct. While I've had short good lengthers hit the stumps sometimes which seems right on occasion more often than not I've had normal full (yellow) deliveries bounce over the stumps and not just on bouncier wickets.

After further testing...

I have been getting R1 X to be hitting the top/trimming the bails.

Pardon me chap. How do you go about the process of adjusting length when bowling? Do you press R1/L1 at the same time as the selecting desired length? Or before? After? Only press R1/L1 once or will multiple presses impact on the level of adjustment further?

I only ask because I find it very temperamental and I'm never really sure if I've done it correctly.

Basically if you think there are 5 blocks, I work on 1st block = crap, 2nd block = journeyman, 3rd block = good county/international 4th block = international

End of the 4th block and beginning of 5th block is world class/legend territory

this approach has served me well enough.

Do we know how the blocks affect a bowler's min/max speeds? I.e. a base of fast medium with 3 blocks of speed = 85-90mph

Would massively help to accurately map bowlers speeds. I'm sure there must also be perks which would help to increase top speeds or further decrease slower balls etc. to help with fine tuning

Also, would it be that troublesome to allow us to alter spinner bowling speeds? Against spin, once you have the timing down it becomes easy as every ball is the same speed more or less. Also is odd that we have to have Afridi bowling at the same speed as Herath
