but the due date is tomorrow

and i have 1 assingnment and 2 tests tomorrow

First Footwork, the batsmen has no base, he has gone back and stayed back hovering on the back foot and pushing at the ball therefore playing away from his eyes, head and body. This has meant that the bal will be pushed up and in all situations you are going to go batting like this. My advice to the batsmen on footwork is to go back with the ball as it comes to you, you follow it back waiting until its there to be played.

Another issue is the wrists, he has pushed at the ball hard and due to this is cocked his wrists, this is evident looking at the elbow, it is high but turned and has been pushed through to hit the ball in the air.

This moves to grip. The hands have slipped and so the bat is not straight this means he has to do twice as much work to get the ball straight and without the effort will paddle the ball into the slip, gully region.

I don?t know the situation but the ball looks as if it was there to either hook or leave. He went halfway and got out, working the base is the key to this.

As I am going on a cricket tour to the west Indies for 2 weeks I will not be able to enter tasks without difficulty(if I get through) but don?t count me out.

Thank you

Also thjis is from the blacked out picture so any obvious mistakes are because i was following the blacked one.

You got it all wrong! Firstly it looks like you wanted to play the shot but then backed out of it and in the end you couldn't get your bat out of the way. The pitch looks like it’s very hard with a bit of green on it that means expect a lot of bounce as well as some movement. Considering that you should know to leave balls that are in the corridor of uncertainty. The ball was too close to your body to cut so the best option for that type of delivery is to either leave it or play a pull shot. You tried to play it away from your body and it looks like you wanted to defend it. Don't play the ball away from your body. If the team is in a difficult position and they need a partnership just leave whose balls. If you need runs pull it but don't try to cut it, the ball is too close to your body. To end of things I would like to say your footwork was poor in that shot you weren't balanced at all which also led to you loosing your wicket

The flick over the slip cordon can be dangerous for even the most talented of batsman. However, if used effectively, it can be a big run scorer. Alternatives to that shot from that delivery are a leave, a lofted square cut, or if you can get outside off stump and in line then a pull/hook stroke is possible. Remember not to play the flick over the slip cordon when the opposition captain has placed a fly slip. This would be cricketing suicide. Also, don't play this shot if the ball is swinging or seaming around, this would massively increase the chance of an edge which could be caught by a fielder. It is advisable not to play this shot when your side has to defend, however if runs are needed quickly then it is an excellent shot to be able to play. If the pitch has variable bounce then try not to play the shot, if you misjudge a ball and it keeps low, then you could be a bowled or LBW candidate. You should bear in mind that the shot would most likely go much finer, when a express pace bowler is delivering the ball, this is an important factor when thinking of your timing. In conclusion, you have to be very careful playing this shot but it is an effective run scorer, if your gonna flash at this shot, then flash hard!

ill change as well if it means less work

Can i change to groundsman :p

ill change as well if it means less work

Sorry, there wasn't enough people to have a groundsperson's division.
I'm astounded as to why you think 200 words is a lot of work... it really isn't, in school you get assignments that have to be 2000 words and in college/university you get assignments that have to be 20,000 words! Once you are into your passage, you will pass 200 words without noticing it.

i know lol i have a 2000 word essay due... thats why i dont wanna do this! im over writing atm

Dear me, Griffo, moaning about it has given you 50 words :p so i dont see why you cant complete this task, yet moan about it on PC, its simple, ive typed 31 words before the number, and im still going, its taken me 30 seconds to type this :p 2 minutes work near enough!

ok i think that you shouldn't play that shot because you could lose your wicket and that would be really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really annoying

ok fine! but im tired its 2 am and my head hurts from writing for so long so cut me some slack if its not in order or whatever, sorry for being omarosa HAHAH!

MERRY CHRISTMAS IAN BOTHAM!

Clearly the batsman has not managed to pick up the length of the ball or it has kicked up at him leading to the edge. This often occurs at an early stage of a batsmen innings where they haven’t adjusted to the conditions, surroundings or the bowler. This is something that seems to go unidentified by coaches as "just a good ball" but is something in which you can play correctly if you have the training before hand. In the AIS Ricky Ponting was being trained to duck short balls but he was hooking them but with his talent he can pull it off, hooking is often the more aggressive option something which leads to alot of poor players downfall.

With the ball's chances of taking a wicket at a minimum it is wise to duck it and wait for them to pitch it up so you have the opportunity to score easier runs. Don’t lean to far into the shot before the ball is delivered otherwise you compromise your position and leave yourself vulnerable for certain types of deliveries such as the yorker. It is these tiny flaws in a player’s games that creates the difference between the good and the excellent.

Poor Technique

The shot played by the batsman is a clear example of a) lack of batting quality and b) the quality of the bowler bowling in correct areas. The batsman is playing away from his body and pushing at the ball which can easily result in an edge or the ball being hit in the air. The ball at that hight can be left alone easily and would be good to be left alone if in a test match or in complete control of the match situation. Instead of defending a ball that rises and is on/around off stump is to play the uppercut shot. This will result in the ball being hit in the air over the slips or gully. This shot would be very effective if there is no 3rd man fielder. The batsman has left the ground also whilst playing this shot which has caused hi mto loose his balence and positioning. On any pitch the ball can bounce at around neck high and so a good quality batsman should be ready for it if it occurs and should be able to play it accordingly. Bowlers will use this ball if they feel a batsman has a poor backfoot technique or is a player who is not genuinely a batsman. Overall the result of the poor technique from the batsman can come as three things. A) The batsman being a poor player on the backfoot and resulting in playing the wrong kind of shot to this ball. B) The bowler getting pace and bounce of the pitch which creates the batsman to panick and cramp up. C) Good bowling by the bowler realising wether the batsman is a poor batsman all-round, or if he is poor off the back foot. My conclusion is that this ball has been effectively and that unless the batsman was of a decent to high calibre, then it would cause most to miss, edge or hit the ball arial on most occasions.
Haven't counted words but hopefully over 200 :)

I thought it was a lot but when I first started it was actually very little.

Sorry but i cannot compete so please fire me if you have to choose someone, i just don't have the time at the moment.

Task 1

It seems that the reason you lost your wicket is because of poor shot selection. Judging by the picture and my evaluation of the shot, it seems you played at a short delivery, edging the ball away to slip.

To avoid this mishap in future, make sure to leave that kind of bowl. This is because a short pitched delivery will just fly over a batsmen head, if left properly. You could even score runs from it, if A) the ball misses the wicketkeeper and you could score leg byes, B) the ball is declared an overhead wide or C) the bowl was a no-ball.

In some cases, when the match situation favours the bowler, bouncers are used to keep runs down. If this was the case, then you could attempt the uppercut shot. If played effectively, the height would be used to your advantage and by giving the ball a slight bit of direction, you could easily clear the in-field and score runs from it.

So in conclusion, I believe the batsman lost his wicket because of poor shot selection and if he is to improve, they should leave the ball to go past or depending on the state of the game, play an uppercut shot.
