Also updated. Might take a bit of a break from this before starting London 1908.

Cricket at the Olympics - London 1908

The Olympic Games will at long last be hosted by a country with favorable means of hosting international cricket matches. While originally scheduled to take place in Rome, the Games were moved to London due to the disastrous 1906 eruption of Mt Vesuvius which killed over 100 people and utterly devastated the city of Naples.

While most of the sporting events of the 1908 Games will be hosted at the White City Stadium, the MCC and IOC have come to an agreement to allow all cricket matches to be played at Lord's and The Oval. The 8 participating nations in the cricket tournament will be

United States.

1904 participants Ireland and the West Indies withdrew from the 1908 event for various reasons, and the Mixed Team were cast out after a disastrous 1904 campaign. They were replaced by Argentina, Belgium and Canada, while the NOCs of Australia and New Zealand merged together to form Australasia.

I'd prefer Australasia or South Africa, but any team is fine.

The managers selected above may trim their preliminary squads listed in the index down to 15 players. For those who are taking part here the first time, I've made it only too easy for you guys by listing your available players in the following order :-

Opening batsmen

Top-order/Upper middle-order

Middle-order batsmen

Lower-order batsmen

Tailenders (pace)

Tailenders (spin)

The medal icons denote the overall calibre of a player. To know what they mean, take a gander at this.

legend_zpsjmvnbssr.png
- Legend. Used for the players that are undoubtedly the best of the lot.

Emerald_zpst80idw2s.png
- Emerald. Used for players that play in a certain way that nobody else can replicate.

gold-png.135399
- Gold. Used for players with a high level of consistency and ability to deliver during key moments.

silver-png.135400
- Silver. Used for players that aren't as talented as their Gold/Emerald/Legend contemporaries, but still capable of holding their own against the best in business.

bronze-png.135398
- Bronze. Used for players with inexperience who could either put in good performances or fail miserably.

oxyn_zpsfot0320k.png
- Onyx. Used for players who are coming back to the game from obscurity. Some of them could still be good enough to compete at the highest level, but could just as well end up being a disappointment.

I will wait until tomorrow before deciding what to do regarding Argentina, Australasia and South Africa who still remain unpicked as of now. Those who've already signed up here could claim one of them to go with their other teams if they so please.

I would happily take any of these three teams, but Argentina might be a bit of a conflict of interests, so in order of preference:

Code:
Australasia, South Africa, Argentina
