The 39-year old Bart King showed age had not slowed him down one bit with the ball. In fact, it had seen him mature into an even greater bowler than before. The Dutch didn't stand a chance against his variations, as he finished with an astonishing haul of 8/11 from just 5 overs - the greatest bowling analysis in the history of the Olympics, beating Bill Harrington's 7/23 for Ireland, also against the Netherlands at St Louis in 1904.

Good to see Burma standing up against a better lineup but not having such experience of playing in this kind of event showed. But pleased with their performance. I am certain they will perform better in next edition.

Horrible batting performance by Dutch players. They just handed their weapon to Bart King. We were in better position when we had them struggling on 66/5 but we couldn't stop them from reaching to a good total.

Hoping for a better performance next time.

Well. Nothing much to say. Bowlers didn't had enough runs on board to restrict SA. But they were good enough to pick up 6 Wickets. Maybe 50 more runs and SA would have been in pressure. But Batsmen let us down. It happens. One bad day for batsmen. Our opponents were good in both the aspects and deserved to win. Well, We are knocked out from the tournament.

Great Britain's opening batsmen failed to deliver for the first time in the competition. But their versatile No 3 in Phil Mead and a strong middle-order saw them overtake Australasia's total with 6 wickets to spare. Great Britain progressed to the final, where they will play one of the United States or South Africa.

As far as international cricket is concerned, this was the end of the road for both Clem Hill and Victor Trumper, two of the greatest batsmen in the history of the Olympics. Hill became the first batsman to score more than 600 runs in the Olympics during his final innings, and finished a 19-match Olympic career stretching from 1896 to 1912 with 611 runs at an average of 38.19. Meanwhile, Trumper recorded a duck in his final innings to leave his tally at 562 runs at an average of 33.06 from 17 matches between 1900 and 1912. To date, Hill and Trumper remain the only batsmen to have crossed the 500-run mark in the Olympic Games.

The United States looked dead and buried at one stage when they were reduced to 131/7, with just one specialist batsman remaining. However, Christy Morris hung on quite stubbornly and with some help from the likes of Charles Winter, Percy Clark and Rudolph Waad, steered the Americans to a stunning 1-wicket victory. The US were through to their third Olympic final, while South Africa were forced to battle it out for Bronze with Australasia once again.
