Cricket Championship

Well I got rolled for 55 in my second innings of my first FC match of the season. That's the first unrealistic FC score I've had in ages.

I'm really on a hiding to nothing though because of how low my guys are rated compared to the other teams in division one.

One thing is the conditions do normally have large effect. You really want to be batting first more or less all of the time which we both seemed to learn the hard way this round.

Good fightback only to lose a wicket in the third last over of the centurian, Walden out for 149.

We quickly fell to 15/2, Adnan and Lambert falling early for 1 and 4, Walden at the other end who could only watch. Maitland looked solid early on but could only make 11 before he was dismissed before Head couldn't continue his great form when he was dismissed for 18 and we were 67/4. Walden finally had a partnership with Knight as we went into the lunch break at 109/4, before Knight was dismissed for 22 and we were 137/5. Walden and Thompson didn't look back though as Walden brought up his century in the 57th over and was 116* at tea, Thompson 37* as we were 218/5. We looked to have survived the final session only to lose for Walden for 149 with about 3 overs remaining.

And the awkward moment when you realise there's still 4 overs remaining in the day :p

So the end of the first day.

End of over 102 (4 runs) First innings of Hedger's Team 313/6 Day 1 - 0 overs remaining
Thompson 87* (197b) Cross 7* (22b) Partnership 18
Willis 21-2-51-1 Last wicket: T. Walden Caught Burrell Bowled Du Cane 149

I just got rolled for 87, my second under 100 FC score in a row, when I hadn't in one in ages. :/

My team's definitely out of its depth in division one.

That's the end of play for today.

End of over 102 (6 runs) First innings of Saurashtra Lions 399/6 Day 1 - 0 overs remaining
Price 81* (126b) Haigh 3* (15b) Partnership 10
O'Brien 17-1-57-0 Last wicket: A.R. Ewbank Caught Wheeler Bowled Slater 155

at one stage we were 4-60 (Talboys, 17.4 ov) and now see the score and runrate... Price whenever played good he had scored 200+. He has 2 double centuries out of his total 2 centuries...

End of over 90 (6 runs) Second innings of Hedger's Team 256/6 Day 4 - 74 overs remaining
Cross 73* (191b) Thompson 79* (162b) Partnership 153
Du Cane 21-2-55-0 Last wicket: K. Head Caught D. Maitland Bowled Anyon 45
Hedger's Team lead by 337 runs with 4 wickets remaining.

Forgot to set declaration so it doesn't delay for batsman reaching milestones and I still have another 20 odd runs before we're set to declare so that's going to be annoying.

----------

Actually, it's near lunch so it shouldn't matter. I'll just declare at the break.

That's tea. Join us again shortly for the evening session.

End of over 15 (5 runs) Second innings of Lahore Champs 45/2 Day 4 - 34 overs remaining
Slater 14* (29b) Redpath 18* (37b) Partnership 32
Price 3-0-14-0 Last wicket: U.L. Spencer LBW Pattisson 4
Lahore Champs need 224 runs to win with 8 wickets remaining (RRR: 6.59).

What will happen? Last session of the match. Chance are high for a draw but possibility of win is also equal...

My players failed once again. We had over a day to bowl them out in, but we failed, so the match ended in a draw.

----------

For you new guys the next draft is happening on the 1st of October, you can set your preferences under the "Draft" link.

End of over 49 (maiden) Second innings of Lahore Champs 128/9 Day 4 - 0 overs remaining
Steptoe 2* (11b) Jollye 4* (10b) Partnership 3
Pattisson 12-2-28-1 Last wicket: O.R. March Bowled Hilton 5
Lahore Champs need 141 runs to win with 1 wicket remaining.

47.1 An extremely attacking field. Hilton to March W WICKET. March is out for 5. Good ball and March seemed to have dealt with it okay but it crept through his defences and dislodged a bail.

Required 1 wicket off last 11 balls but couldn't... I would have won if I had set aggressive bowling and fielding... Missed chance...

Really AP :facepalm

End of over 3 (3 runs) Second innings of Angrypixel CC 9/8 Day 3 - 34 overs remaining
Winnington 3* (4b) Rawlinson 1* (1b) Partnership 3 Lee 2-0-7-4 Last wicket: A.M. Richardson Caught Lambert Bowled Lee 0

But they did manage to score a few runs in the end.

End of innings Second innings of Angrypixel CC 31/10 Day 3 - 30 overs remaining
Winnington 10* (14b) Lee 3.4-0-17-6 Last wicket: B.S. Borrett Bowled Lee 1

Hedger's Team 269 a.o. (Head 91, Knight 48, Maitland 46, Borrett 3/38, Richardson 3/47) and 238 a.o. (Knight 87, Head 38, Lockwood 4/59, Borett 3/38) def. Angrypixel CC 205 a.o. (Taylor 37, Kingston 29, Thompson 3/47, John 2/33) and 31 a.o. (Rawlinson 12, Lee 6/17, Thompson 3/14) by 271 runs

----------

Lee's playing well this season. 3 matches, 27 wickets @ 14.85, BBI 7/47, BBM 14/146, SR 28.30, 3 5w, 1 10w

Thompson is also playing very well, 214 runs @ 53.5, HS 114, 1 100, 1 50, 13 wickets @ 28.38, BBI 3/14, BBM 6/61, SR 46.23.

****en just got owned by a massive 9th wicket partnership. I went from a probably 100 run first innings lead, to needing to bat for at least half of tomorrow to save a draw.

I can't say I like the Overall MVP points system :p O.A. Lee would be well on his way to the MVP award with 1021 bowling points, 45 wickets @ 22.76, 9 better than the next best but because all points are added up, he only has 1055 points in total which is only third behind my all-rounder, P.S Thompson in 2nd and another all-rounder that's scored 510 runs and taken 23 wickets @ 32.3, which is actually only 5th on the batting MVP chart while Walden and Head (two of my players) are top two :p And he's not even in the top 10 on the bowling charts.
