Cricket Quiz

Nah not Alderman, it will be someone who I reckon wasn't necessarily a regular all the time and as such didn't get that many caps. Was probably called up in the 90's as experience.

Border is definately the first one though.

Also his career may have started in 1970 and ended up 1990, and he may only have played a few tests in between. No idea who though :)

Since I definately won't get it, I've looked it up, my guesses as to who the sort of player would be are correct, and both of those bar Border are wrong Zorax ;)

Yes, Border is correct. If noone has guessed the other before I go to bed I'll drop some clues.

Both wrong. I don't think many people stand a chance of getting the second player to be honest.

Righto. Seeing as noone has even got anywhere near the answer, clue time.

Former South Australian who has captained and coached Andrew Flintoff.

Okay, maybe that question was a little hard, the answer was Alex Border and Peter Sleep. I'll try an easier question this time.

Question: Which player has scored the highest individual test innings in a losing team and who was it against?

That is correct Andrew. Ponting scored 242 against India in Australia's first inning against the Indians at the Adelaide Oval, and Australia made 556. Then India was in trouble at 4/85 before Dravid and Laxman put on 303 runs for the fifth wicket and India made 523. Then the Aussies were rattled for 196 in the second innings and India led by an unbeaten 72 from Dravid in the second innings got the 230 runs required to win by 4 wickets. That match also happened to be the debut of Pathan, who got 1/160 for the match.
