By the way, the link has been removed above, but it is in PD's quote, needs to be edited out of there so people cant look.

going on a few clues i picked up from the guys (Evertonfan and others) it wouldnt be Budhi Kunderan by any chance?

i know he got over 500 runs in a series once, i forget who it was against but probably Aussie or England.

Ok since noone has got it right, I will give you the answer. In test cricket 6 batsman have managed to bat on everyday of a test match. A few of those were guessed at, but none managed to get the first player to do so.

The 5 players to do so were Kim Hughes, Geoffrey Boycott, Allan Lamb, Ravi Shastri, Andrew Flintoff.

The player to do it first was a Mr Motganhalli Laxminarsu Jaisimha, an Indian batsman who set the record in the 1959/60 Australia tour of India in the final test at Calcutta.

The same player also set the record for most consecutive test matches opening the batting and bowling.

I didn't expect many people to get this one, although I did expect a fair few of you to have had a guess at Ravi Shastri.

Ok another question, my third on the bounce :p

What is special in the cricketing world about the names C.Reid and R.Terry?

They were the Umpires of the very first test between England and Australia at Melbourne in 1877.

my dad tippe4d me off!

Yep, tell your dad well done, and to start thinking of a question :p

I suppose you then had to listen to an hours worth of "in my day we 'ad none o' tha' fancy pads, we ha' t'bat with our bare hands and you only out if you could no longer stand".

Anyway, well done, and your next to come up with a question, glad to see this one didn't take quite as long to answer as the previous one :p

I happened to be talking to dad on the phone about xmas plans and mentioned the question, because i had no clue! He's a cricket boffin and said "Oh yes! they were the two standing umpires in the first test." I said how the h**l do you remember that, and he laughed and said because R.Terry sounds like artery, and he just remembered it from reading old books.

old people huh? lol

anyway ill start thinking of a question, but it probably wont be as hard as some of yours!

how about a riddle then?

one for eternity,
a famous fraternity,
no questioned paternity.
Captains courageous,
into countries as strangers,
One bold and contagious,
the other quite mild.
Who are we?

India? :p

One for eternity - Umm...
