What a very good final that was between Webster and Whitlock and from around the 6th set onwards, it was absolutely fantastic. Congratulations to Mark Webster who has won me round after seeing his very poor performance at the Grand Slam of Darts last year. That's the best I've seen Whitlock play as well.

The final was a great advert for the BDO, which is often seen as the lesser darts organisation. I was cheering on Simon Whitlock, despite him being an Australian, because I just don't like Mark Webster, I don't know why.

Yeah it was a good final but PDC still seems to be 10 years ahead of the BDO. The BDO still has all the Bobby George type of people and the entrances are a bit dull and when they stop for a break theres nothing better in the PDC when i player wins a leg and then Planet Funk- Chase the sun goes on and gets the crowd going. The Quality of Darts is quite equel but could the BDO players cope with the atmosphere their is in the PDC.

I'm sorry but i doubt the darts is equal. Players who are seen as fairly mediocre in the PDC would wipe the floor with even the best the BDO has to offer i think. Players like Peter Manley, Wayne Mardle, Andrew Hamilton, Roland Scholten, Adrian Lewis, Dennis Priestley, John Part, the list goes on. I dont think there's many BDO players that would offer a real challenge to the likes of Taylor, Barneveld or even James Wade. Maybe one of two at most.

The real difference between the two is the strength in depth of the PDC, whereas in the BDO, you've got Anderson and Webster who are easily the best players and have already proven they can compete with the very best in the PDC. The problems begin when you get past those two, with the likes of Martin Adams, who is by no means a bad player, but he's not getting any younger (He's 50) and he's past his best, then Robert Thornton and Ted Hankey, with the latter being possibly the most inconsistant player I've ever seen. On his day, he is the best, no one except Phil Taylor at his absolute best can match him, but he has big issues with his attitude and mental state that I doubt he will ever get back to his best.

The things the PDC has in its favour is money and Sky TV, simple as that. The BBC isn't willing to spend money on Darts (which I can understand), which results in only two tournaments being televised.

With the crowds, there is no doubt the atmosphere at PDC events is lively, but if the Grand Slam of Darts is anything to go by, the crowd tends to go OTT sometimes. I'm all for cheering, chanting and enjoying yourself, but it goes too far sometimes. I remember Gary Anderson had a particular issue with the crowd at the GSoD with parts of the crowd calling out whilst he was throwing and shouting abuse.

Im a happy man tonight after seeing the fixture list for the premier league darts. When i go to echo Arena in liverpool to watch it the games will be

James Wade vs Wayne Mardel ( So happy hes been picked as wildcard)
John Part vs Adrian Lewis
Peter Manely vs Terry Jenkins
And the Big one- Phil Taylor vs Raymond Van Barnveld

That will be one hell of a night so look out for a lad in a Hawai shirt and that will be me :D

I dont get why Mardle is the wildcard, he's done nothing in the past year, and although entertaining in small doses, is a very bad loser, especially after the evidence i have seen first hand. He lost a game against Peter at one the events i went to, and seeing that i'm related to him i got to go into the VIP area and have a drink with Pete and that, and Wayne ignored him for the whole night and acted in a very childish manner. He's such an over-rated player, and one of the most inconsistent on the PDC circuit, Andy Hamilton and Roland Scholten are far more deserving of a place imo.

Peter Manley is on top against the world champion. Part is playing for a draw, Manley is one leg away from a win. KP will be pleased.

A great night of darts. Wayne mardle played well until after the break when Barney showed his class. Then a fablous performence from aderian lewis but a good fightback from Terry "the Bull" Jenkins. Then a faboulas match betwen manley and part. The last game of the night saw the Debutan beat the Reinging champ in a fab match. A cracking night of darts wont be as easy for taylor this year i expect a close 1. Bring on the darts!

Shock last night when Wayne Mardle was thrashed by Co Stompe 4-0. Stompe, Phil Taylor, Jelle Klaasen, Raymond van Barneveld, Paul Nicholson, James Wade, Mervyn King and Barrie Bates are in the quarter-finals.

Was a magnificent night of Darts last night. I've got a new favourite player (after Peter Manley of course), Jelle Klaasen, he's my outside choice to get to the final. He's got such a smooth, flowing throw and now that he's found himself a good practise partner he's hitting the form that he showed in his Championship winning BDO spell. He's been my player of the tournament so far.

Raymond Van Barneveld vs Ronnie Baxter goes down as match of the year as well. Baxter was as good as I've ever seen him on TV, Barney really showed his class as well, except on the doubles. Was a simply brilliant match, shame Baxter lost really, I was cheering him on.

Nice to see Kirk Shepherd's gone far since his World Championship run last year as well :p.

van Barneveld vs Baxter was the best match I have seen since van Barneveld beat Taylor in the 2007 final.

The Power looks ominous. My favourite player of all time is Dennis Priestley.

Wade really is an annoying, arrogant prat. Good player, but the little faces, delays, points, and other mannerisms really annoy me. Hes got a really high voice for someone named 'the machine' as well. This has been a rubbish game so far, bring on Klaasen vs Barneveld!
