Yup,Viru Pa was a fine batsman.Nobody is going to say NO.But the thing is every player has a bad and a good patch.Dhoni,when he came into the side in mid 2000s he was brutal and looked fine.He had a elongated bad patch but now he is amazing for the past 12 months.
Viru has also had his ups and downs.His test average has dropped below 50 in the recent past.He had his time too.No one can score 100s in every game.Even the great WALL had his failures.Dhoni has finished so many crucial matches for India and CSK too.He has the extra talent of captaincy too.Just because you dont like him,you cant say he is useless.

Sehwag likely to miss opener - The Hindu

So Sehwag will miss the first game due to some back injury. No KP, no Jesse Ryder, no Morne Morkel for the first two games and no Sehwag for the first match. It's gonna be a tough opening game for us against KKR tomorrow. Hoping that Sehwag plays the second match and Morkel comes to India ASAP.

Right from season 1 DD looked the strongest in the paper and they look like winning every time.This time around DD looks a bit shaky.Maybe thats why they might just win this IPL?

Yes, Varun Aaron is injured and won't be playing the entire season. And I read about that Ben Rohrer signing but forgot to post about it here.

So this has been the summary so far:
Kevin Pietersen out for the whole tournament
Jesse Ryder out for the whole tournament
Varun Aaron out for the whole tournamet
Morne Morkel to miss the first game and maybe the second one too as he his playing domestic cricket in South Africa
Ben Rohrer replaces Kevin Pietersen
Virender Sehwag's back injury rules him out of the first game

Yes, a solid youngster from Gujarat . He can play according to the situation. Definitely one to look out for the future if he can keep up even in the FC.
