That's why everyone tends to have some kind of chutney with it... Idli in general is pretty bland, Dosa all day e'rday. ;)

I have never had any of these chutney's, suppose 'cause I am of Pakistani descent.

Always wanted to eat Idli Dosa, because of the films, but not really sure if I wil like it, what do you guys think?

You wont really find good ones even in the best of hotels.... I dont at all like Idlis but can manage Dosas for breakfast.

If you fancy a-bit-spicy food, you might want to try out the fried version of the Idlis in Schezwan sauce. Not sure if you'll find it there in UK.

By the way, when I saw Schezwan its the Indian Chinese sauce.

Dosa > Idli. South Indian approved. :p

Bland!bland!bland

Go buy some Pizza dough, chuck it in the oven, take it out and eat it. Then come back and tell me how flavorful it was. :rolleyes

That's the chutney I like, but with Dosa's. (The stuff on top is just for presentation btw)
