Discuss about your upcoming Exams

I think in an IQ test 100 should be the maximum you can achieve, and therefore average lies somewhere around 65-80, 90ish being very smart. You score a 100 means you are smarter than 100% of the people, and so on.

Had maths today, was well hard. Well it was better than I expected because I have done way too little work this term and kind of realise that there is more to do than GCSE but I might have scraped a pass.

Lol at Sureshot's new signature.

Forums are semi-formal at best, I don't really care about punctuation and grammar, it's just that if you have a signature on the topic it should be punctuated correctly.

Back on topic: finished my AS re-site today. Think I have done quite well; better than the original attempts, at least. Hopefully picked up 10-15 marks (or should that be UMS?) in Biology to send me into "firm A" territory. Hopefully picked up 20 in chemistry to drag me up to an overall B.

Got unit 4 in 2 weeks for both subjects. There is far more learn but I should be all right. Can always re-sit in June if necessary.

What type of qualification is that, Lee?

Its a BTEC National Diploma, which is equal to 3 A-Levels, thats if I pass the 18 units for the Diploma, but if I fail 1 I drop down to the National Award which is only equal to 1 A-Level.

Found out that I passed all 9 first year units at Passes and Merits, so a few distinctions this year and I could be coming out with 3 A* grades in Public Services, will set me up for the police amazingly! :)

Law on Monday, should be ok, dreading History on Tuesday, based from 1483 to 1529, so the start of the Tudor dynasty, not gonna do well in that.

Agree.

I'm on same level, just doing Hospitality instead. Though we're doing 10 units in first year. Daft, but what can you do?

Got so much work to do. Really can't be bothered to do it, lacking motivation. Have about 4 units to finish in 3-4 weeks.

Hey don't complain Nigel. I have just realised I have a ton of work to revise for my exam a week on Monday. I am wishing I had been too more lectures now.

I don't actually mind exams. It's the sheer fact of having 4-5 different units due in at once.

I don't care about these exams anymore :p I just found I got 25% in the bag through tutorials and presentations. I only need to get 40% now to pass the first semester. I can go back to sleep :p

Have mocks in every subject on wednesday, should go alright provided to do a basic amount of revision over the next few days I assume.

Lol I have no (important) exams until next year :p.

What are BTECs like?. I believe everyone who chooses Music does a BTEC in it instead of the GCSE.

BTEC is all based on assignments. Is business based in most cases. Can't say for other courses, I am enjoying mine, even if it is quite hectic atm. Depends what you want to do, I can't speak for other courses, I would recommend my course (Nat Diploma in Hospitality), even though my college is awful at organisation. I had my full assignment brief one week before it's due in date. Though I spoke to my tutor and he is okay that he won't get it on Monday. Also in the middle of firing some enquiries out about work experience.

You in year 10, Andrew? Got any ideas what you want to do?

Nope, Year 9.

My teacher was telling me about the "Hands on" nature compared to the usual academic courses. Buisness is actually a career choice I've always wanted to do, so a BTEC sounds interesting.

Hospitality sounds quite interesting also, I'm assuming it involves Catering and the like? Something I'd like to do also (Even if temporarily).

I actually enjoy exams mainly because I am good at them the pressure involved makes me produce. Much rather have 100% exams than coursework.

Although that being said I did flap the easiest English module last summer As in the two hardest ones then a D in the exam the teacher said everyone should get an A in. It wasn't entirely my own fault, though and should easily get it to a B with very little effort in the re-sit.

We did 9 units last year, and doing 9 this year, however, only done 2 so far, so we have 7 units to do in 4 months as our finishing date is May 22nd.
