Don Bradman Cricket 14 General Discussion

hi ross:wave, you all have paid attention to a lot of minute details in the game that is commendable. Just wanted to ask you what affect would such detailing have on the Batting and Bowling keyboard controls for PC, would we have to press a lot of keys at a time ? :):)

Ross has clearly said that it would be next to impossible to play this game with a keyboard. You will need a controller/gamepad.

He looks more kinda Manoj Tiwary :facepalm

Read again. You can play it on pc but you would need to use a xbox360 controller or some other controller that is compatible with this game.

that's some relief !:yes

Keyboard have never been great with sport games, FPS/Flight sims so on are great or C&C but sport games rule with a pad. Just have a look at Fifa 2013, sold great on consoles not so great on PC.

Disagree on the flight sim thing there. MS Flight Simulator X (the 2006 game I guess) played terrible on the keyboard. Unlike the racing games, when you steer your flight mid air, the rudders don't come back to the neutral position. Just one of many flaws when playing flight sims with a keyboard. But with a gamepad, it plays superbly.
Terribly off topic this, sorry Dutchad! :p

cant wait till the game announcement

Ross/Mikey you guys said you weren't intrested in button-press mini games, but then how's the fielding and catching mechanism set up? Or does it mean that you'll not have an indicator around the ball as there were in other games?

From what I could collate, here is what Ross said about fielding/catching:

It's not always hard to catch the ball... just that you have to actually do it, not just stand there looking at it. There are no "automatic" catches. Leaving your hands where they are is a decision, if the ball is going to hit you square in the guts and that's where your hands are then I would not expect you to drop it - however if you don't move your hands or your timing is bad and the ball is high/low/left/right then there might be an issue. Even the wind affects the ball in flight?so it might not be that easy to position yourself under the ball on a windy day.

Btw...IVG posted an article on what we know about this game....you can check it out here:

^^ do not think the pc version will be supporting oculus. BA just tested it out with the game but do not think ross confirmed about the game supporting oculus right out of the box.

Not out of the box....but they said they would patch it once the retail version of Oculus is available :D!

However, I have requested the mods to modify that particular statement :D!!
