Don Bradman Cricket 14 General Discussion

Have an inbox full of enquiries as to whether the video released last night is if the game featured on the BBC.

This is being asked by people in the business, imagine what the public would think. I do not have the budget to educate the masses.

I am seeking professional advice on the time to release.

----------

And the press are still using our screenshots as if the are from Ashes.

Yikes.

Good luck, mate.

If Australian media gave bad review about AC13 then They will give review about DBC14 too. Everyone here think DBC14 is best cricket game ever.
Media headlines will change to " month earlier Worst cricket game ever, Now Best cricket game ever. Buy your kids Best Christmas gift this december."

Realistically, no, that won't happen

What is going to stop them from asking the same questions, using the same screenshots after a month, say if you release in Jan 2014. In my opinion, I don't think one month is going to make that much of a difference. Unless you release the game after Feb/March next year, this is will continue to be a problem.

Righto then, I misinterpreted just how bad this Ashes shit has made the situation... Good luck then. They've really screwed DBC14, but not in the way they had hoped they would.

Not ourightely but may be later on it will be available digitally as Ross has hinted on a couple of occassions.

And both the games have been developed in Melbourne :facepalm

That headline would make people think that this is the same game, just under a different name.

But, what if it is the first train in 15 odd years that reached the station right on time?

Lol....good point :yes

Ross....all said and done, wont it be even more problematic if you release the game later? I mean, everyone currently knows that Ashes Cricket 2013 has been "Cancelled", so if you release your game now, people might still not think its the 'same' game. At worst, if they are apprehensive, they will google it and check or atleast check on youtube.

Also, a 'cricket game' is currently in news and probably a hot topic for people who read that news and are interested in cricket gaming. Even if they think its the same game they would 'want' to know more about it, as many could not see the game as it was taken off almost as soon as it was released.

If you release it later (next year), then there is even more probability that everyone not aware of the two games would think its the 'same' game which has been released again. Isn't it better to release at a time when the cancellation of the game + news of refund is fresh in memory of the people and whatever press you get will probably talk about 'both' the games in the same article, so atleast whoever reads those articles (and it seems many do read them) would know its not the same game.

This is not a suggestion or anything like that. Genuinely wanted to know your opinion on this :)!

What if you guys did a series of introductory short videos on features and skills in the next few weeks to see the public's reaction??

Yeah, that's right, and an immediate release will surely make people think of this as a new game as on cannot release it again within such a small time limit...But Ross mentioned his inbox being full with responses of the other game thinking that it was this game being cancelled....So I am guessing that announcement will be made next week....And a series of trailers for creating awareness of this game...:)

----------

Ross: Can you request IGN to display the trailer on the main page rather than we searching for it specifically...:yes

Its coming under "ALL UPDATES" section on the main page but not under "Top Stories"....
