Ross....all said and done, wont it be even more problematic if you release the game later? I mean, everyone currently knows that Ashes Cricket 2013 has been "Cancelled", so if you release your game now, people might still not think its the 'same' game. At worst, if they are apprehensive, they will google it and check or atleast check on youtube.
Also, a 'cricket game' is currently in news and probably a hot topic for people who read that news and are interested in cricket gaming. Even if they think its the same game they would 'want' to know more about it, as many could not see the game as it was taken off almost as soon as it was released.
If you release it later (next year), then there is even more probability that everyone not aware of the two games would think its the 'same' game which has been released again. Isn't it better to release at a time when the cancellation of the game + news of refund is fresh in memory of the people and whatever press you get will probably talk about 'both' the games in the same article, so atleast whoever reads those articles (and it seems many do read them) would know its not the same game.
This is not a suggestion or anything like that. Genuinely wanted to know your opinion on this
