I'm watching the re-broadcast of the record breaking ODI between South Africa vs Australia (2005/2006) which S.A won by 438 runs,,,point I'm getting at is, A. Gilchrist was caught in the extra cover region, it was a single handed catch by A. Hall, I don't get the fuss about the single handed catch we saw on the trailer, its as if it doesn't happen in reality.

There's nothing wrong about that catch Ross,,,Kudos!!!

If it's the outfield one we are talking about, I thought it looked double handed and realistic when seen from the third angle shown in that video.

Yeah that's the catch I'm referring to Angie, to me it look fine and superb even if its single handed, such catches are there in real matches,,,people were going on as if its unrealistic,,,after checking the video several times, it looks single handed to me, and its fine that way still

Nope....it was a double handed catch for sure:

I agree with you, its as realistic as it can get. Its pretty cool that we have so many catching animations in the game

Video looks good but the lack of a pitch marker is so annoying.. Batsman would have no clue where the ball is going to land and you can see in the video he is driving at short balls and all sorts.. I know in real life you don't get a pitch marker, but the reaction time required to play a shot is different..

Also, whats with that grille? Can you get rid of it? No way do you focus on the grille when batting, it is almost something you can't see at all..

I think the lack of pitch marker will take some getting used to but it's had positive feedback from those who have used it. Regarding the grill, could be wrong here, but I think there is a first person view where you don't see it.

What is the engine used for DBC14 and can you elaborate some of its features (graphical,networking,gameplay)and any innovation in it.
IS it totally inhouse developed? or customization of an different engine, What do you call it, does it support next gen

I know its pretty late in the development cycle but would it be possible to make grill of the helmet in procam mode a little blurry/translucent and link that to the quality of a batsmen. That can work similar to how good batsmen are not bothered by grill in real life and mostly ignore its even there.
Moreover you can link this to how settled batsman is. If he's new at the crease then grill would be more prominent and would get blurry as you are settled.

And when the batsman is unsettled due to some poor shots or form, he would get reflections from the sight screen occasionally during batting which would make spotting the ball trail difficult.

I know its probably too much at the moment but maybe in the future via DLC or in the next iteration of DBC

You can of course just bat with a cap on if you don't want to see the grille.
