Ian Botham: And India have lost another wicket, in the very next over. Sourav Ganguly is caught by Simon off the bowling of Matthew Hoggard.

Nasser Hussain: Poor shot by Ganguly, clear signs of a player who hasnt been playing international cricket for a while. England are on top now with two early wickets. Good catch by Simon Jones by the way.

David Gower: India lost both their openers early, but thanks to Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman, the visitors are now in a much better position. And both these guys look pretty comfortable in the middle, dont they?

David Lloyd: Yeah they do. And there is no reason why they shouldnt be, because the wicket is absolutely fine for batting. The only bowler who can cause problems is Matthew Hoggard, who will be assisted by the overcast conditions.

Ravi Shastri: I think what Dravid and Laxman have shown till now is application. Now this is something that is absolutely crucial when you are playing in alien conditions. Sehwag and Ganguly, both got out to rather poor shots, when they really had no reason to play those shots. And like David Lyold said, its a fine wicket for batting, and all you need here is application.

David Gower: England, on the other hand will be fairly happy with the morning session though, having got two wickets.

David Lloyd: Definately. But they have to break this partnership, because these two represent the core or the backbone of the Indian batting lineup. They can easily take away the game from the opposition, and till now have looked extremely solid and firm with the bat, in the middle.

Ravi Shastri: Yes, I think if England can get Dravid or Laxman not too long after Lunch, then they will be a good position to get the Indians out for a pretty low first innings score.

David Gower: Yeah, and am sure that is exactly what England will be planning for as we speak. Ah, England's bowling has been good so far, very disciplined, conceding no extras in that session. I thought Matthew Hoggard especially looked extremely dangerous at times.

Ravi Shastri: Very dangerous. He was getting the ball to move a lot, and that particular over had a solid batsman like Rahul Dravid in a spot of bother. I think Michael Vaughan might consider bringing him back into the attack to try and break this partnership between Laxman and Dravid, as you do not want these two to settle in.

David Lloyd: Yeah, and I thought Harmison early on bowled well too, although once the batsmen realised that the wicket was perfect for batting, they were able to play him fairly comfortably. Simon Jones hasnt really done much in his three overs, but once the ball gets older and begins to reverse, I am sure he will be causing the batsmen a whole lot of problems.

David Gower: Well then, we will take a short break now. When we come back we'll analyse that morning session a lot more closely.

good rescue by Laxman and Dravid!!! Ganguly needs to shine well against the quality pace to keep his place in the team!!!

David Gower: Welcome back. If you've just joined us, then let me tell you that India had won the toss and decided to bat in this first npower test match at Lord's. They got off to a bad start losing both Sehwag and Ganguly cheaply, before captain Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman lead the recovery act. At Lunch, India's score stands at 79-2.

Here is how the scorecard looks at lunch. VVS Laxman already into the thirties, and Dravid himself not far away.

England have already used all of their five bowlers, including Monty Panesar. Harmison and Hoggard the two wicket-takers, and Hoggard especially has looked dangerous in that morning session.

Ravi Shastri: And these are highlights from Rahul Dravid's innings so far. Solid as usual, although was in a spot of bother while facing Matthew Hoggard early on.

Here is how his spider and wagon wheel appears,

Three fours, two of them to the long-on boundary, and one off a sweep shot to the deep square leg boundary.

David Lloyd: And equally impressive was VVS Laxman in his innings of 30, and he developed a liking towards Simon Jones especially.

Scored two fours, one to the long-on boundary, and one a fantastic cut shot for four on the offside.

David Gower: Pretty impressive that. Well then after the break we'll have a look at England's bowlers, and see how they've done in that morning session.

David Gower: Welcome back, and its now time to have a look at England's two wicket-taking bowlers from that morning session. We start with Matthew Hoggard.

hoggy13js.jpg

David Lloyd: Well, Hoggard has been the most threatening, getting a lot of movement out there, and also as we can see from this pitchmap, he has maintained pretty much a constant line and length, in the good length, slightly towards fullish area, and in line or just outside the offstump. And it was that sort of a line and length that got him the wicket of Ganguly.

David Gower: Precisely, although I thought Ganguly played a poor shot in that case. Anyways now we move on to the other wicket-taker for England, Steve Harmison, who actually picked up the first wicket, that of Virender Sehwag.

harmi11aw.jpg

Ravi Shastri: Well Harmison started very well I thought, pitching it short and high, forcing the batsman on the backfoot. His delivery to get rid of Virender Sehwag was a nice inswinger, which Sehwag failed to pick. But in the last two or three overs of that first spell, I thought Harmison struggled with his length. Nevertheless, he's got the early breakthrough, and has done what the captain had asked of him.

David Gower: Right then. Well we are now ready for play to resume after Lunch. Join us after the break for LIVE action.

Excellent Presentation, seems like another good story,we had some great ones lately.

Btw,all these bowling pitch maps are just assumptions or do you calculate where each ball pitched?

Well what I do, is after every ball is bowled, I pause the game, press Alt + Tab, and put the dot on the pitchmap in Photoshop.

It might not be 100% accurate, though.

Excellent presentation mate!!! Also as i told u before, Dravid has the key for India!!! :happy Laxman always like the place where the ball comes on to the bat easily!!!!
