England in Australia

I'd expect them to get within a few runs of the target and then whoever is batting will retire so Warne and McGrath can finish it off. Unless Ponting is in a ruthless mood that is.
I think it was appropriate that Langer was there at the end. I don't think he would've wanted anyone else to be there with him at the end either, honestly.

Congratulations to the Australians on their 5-0 victory. Would've liked it had it been Langer who hit that six.

Possibly another McGrath and Warne combo in the future? ;)
Don't say that. I'll be having nightmares already ;)

Man of the Series to Ponting, Clark must have been so close to getting that.

Also we have named our 20/20 squad.

Ricky Ponting
Adam Gilchrist
Matthew Hayden
Mike Hussey
Michael Clarke
Andrew Symonds
Cameron White
Brad Hogg
Nathan Bracken
Mitchell Johnson
Brett Lee
Ben Hilfenhaus

Only two new guys, thought there might have been more.

Interesting they left Clark out. I guess he needs time to prepare like they said. They are using some players this time that they left out last year like Lee and Gilchrist

great 5-0 victory by the aussies,,, a thouroughly enjoyed series by me,,

i personally thought stuey clark shoulda been man of the series,, sure he didnt pick up a five-for but boy he bowled some important players out in important times, no more than in the first innings in adelaide where the pitch offered him absoultely nothing,,,

it was a great overall contribution by the team, and i was proud to be at the SCG on the first day it was an unbelievable experience (however i sat right in the middle of the barmy army in bay 14 in an australian odi jersey!!!)

God only knows what we could have achieved with Tres, Jones and Vaughan back again.
Oh come on, it would have been the same out-come,
just maybe a little less pathetic, but still a 5-0 whitewash and still pathetic.
A team has to work as a team, and those three players aren't a full team on
their own and with so many of the players playing badly, it's doubtful they
would have made much of an impact because their other team-mates would
have nullified any good performance they did, and if not, the Aussies would of.

Well McGrath getting smashed by Harmison. Time to retire? :p
And with Harmison's performance through out the series,
he may just join McGrath soon, that is - if he doesn't get the boot
beforehand and that seems the more likely.

What a great day for Australian cricket! :)

Great way to say goodbye to such great players. Thanks for the great moments.

First 5 test series whitewash in the Ashes since 1920/21 in Australia. Australia's 4th 5 test series whitewash of all-time (England 2006/07, West Indies 2000/01, South Africa 1931/32 and England 1920/21) :cheers

Ashes all-time head-to-head record:

Matches: 316
Australia: 131
England: 97
Draws: 88
Ties: 0

:cheers

Can't wait for the world cup now :hpraise

(oh crap, I just got a new dog yesterday and guess what my mom has called it... Monty!!! :mad  :( :boxing  )

Is the match over? Then I was too late to wake up in the morning. They're showing highlights now. :p

well done australia and to the boys that are retiring from test cricket

I'd only consider hilf the only new guy, the others have all played international cricket

Exactly my reasoning as Johnson has more than enough experience and Hayden well see 03 WC. I wouldn't mind seeing some of the guys that went well in the recent KFC bash coming in like Aiden Blizzard.

I have to say.....
This 5-0 whitewash would have never of been possible if the Queen didn't
give your team those MBE's, it really fired us up. So us Aussies really thank
her for contributing to your pathetic perfromance. And we thank her for
giving us this opportunity to rub those MBE's right in your face and
making your national team look like the biggest fools in Cricket history.

Good on ya' Queen Elizabeth, we know you did that for us Aussies! :p
Maybe give them RBE's this time - Rejects of the British Empire,
they do surely deserve that accolade at the very least.

See that all you Aussie boys, our Queen does do good things for us.
What a beautiful lady, huh!?!? ...I luv being a Monarchist. :)

I think monarchies are a little outdated now days, we don't live in the age of kings and queens anymore.
