Well they just have to show the Nimbus feed. How long would that take?

But to send commentators, reporters, setup dishes to send the feed to the UK etc.

EDIT - A guy on the Channel 4 forum who is behind one of the keep cricket on terrestrial TV campaigned but ironically has Sky himself says the latest rumour he is hearing from someone in the press is that Sky are now likely to win the rights. If not it will be Sony.

He said look for news in the Telegraph about it tomorrow.

What kind of figures have Sony asked for on previous tours?

The figure in some of todays papers was ?150 for the tests and ODIs on Setanta sports but................

Dont worry! I think its sorted:

"CRICKET fans in Britain will be able to watch the whole of England?s tour to India on BSkyB, senior Indian television executives told The Times yesterday."

That is from a story in tomorrows Times so yesterday is refering to today. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,426-2053679,00.html

The date is set for tomorrow to it's already probable set up that Sky Sports will air it.

Nagpur Pitch Stripped of all Grass
The Nagpur curator Kishore Pradhan was proudly displaying the Pitch he's prepared for the first Test. It's a Bare, Dry, Brown Top. With hardly any moisture in it, its expected to become a turntable on day three.
When India played Australia in the 2004 Test Series, a lot of green was left on the pitch to "fix" the then Indian captain Ganguly who pulled out of the Test in shady circumstances.
Apparently many high level calls (read Chappell and Dravid) have been made to inquire about the condition of the wicket.

How is this sudden change? Awful in my opinion, but fine because we also dont lose from playing to our strengths! The wicket still has bounce in it and should be helpful to the fast bowlers for 3-4 sessions. The team winning the toss would bat first in order to avoid the final batting on a dustbowl! So England's pacers should find help in the pitch if they bowl first. They get good bounce!

Wonder if Mohali would stay true to its reputation of providing sporting pitches? Normally in Mohali, Day 1 is for the fast bowlers and Day 3 and beyond is for the batsman!

The reason it's sudden change is because a week ago it was a green top, but it is not surprising at all to hear that the grass has been stripped. The curator at Nagpur got a slap on the wrist after leaving it a green top for the Aussies, who promptly skittled India, not a mistake anyone will be making again in the near future :)

I think its probably good for India that it happened otherwise Harmisson, Jones and Flintoff can just run through their line-up in 5 overs!!!, not to mention Hoggard Laul.
It was seamy wickets that won them the Ashes, hitters like Gilchrist and Hayden never got going on those wickets. Same can happen with Sehwag and others in Indian camp.
So flat dry pitches are alright by me for time being till India re-discover their game on bowling-pitches.

there is no moisture in the pitch oh man sad then pathan harldy will get wickets

i think india will win for sure they wil do the same think like pak did to thea make bating pardise pitcches and score huge amount of runs this is not good for cricket both team will get trash when they will tour englnad

The thing for England is, if the pitches are dry and dusty they can lend themselves for reverse-swing, so all is not lost. Especially if the pitches begin to rough up by the 3rd day, the ball can become easier to scuff and dry out. The battles in this series are two fold, Englands pace attack v Indias superb batting lineup, whilst Englands aggressive batting lineup will have to deal with 2 of the Worlds top spin bowlers on turning wickets. If Englands pace attack come out on top, then they stand a good chance, whilst if Indias spin attack proves unplayable for the English batsman, then it's all but over. Here's hoping for a quality series of cricket :)
