I saw for the first time ARY videoclips (and I don't have ARY) in the past series of Pakistan vs India and I saw adverts when an over was passed or when a wicket fell. Don't know how it used to be earlier.

And actually myself would found it a shame if to buy a sports channel for cricket and then to find they couldn't air it.

But there is always the good old radio. :happy I even listened some whole days to the radio during the Ashes.

I would love to know what the ECB think about the TV matter.

I imagine they are not pleased, when they sold Sky the rights to home tests/ODIs they said about Skys commitment to showing away tests and ODIs and now lots of people who have signed up to Sky to see cricket will have to pay even more to see this series.

Although obviously they cant do anything about it now and its not their fault who Nimbus give the rights to. Also its not even decided yet so we will have to wait until tomorrow anyway.

Post 3000! :D

Lots of channels do this but I meant actual adverts on screen when the cricket is being played e.g. scrolling text at the bottom when the bowler is running in or replays sponsored by someone.

Do you have any of these channels usy, does it happen all the time or just when its free for the day?
i have nearly every channel Indian, Pakistani, English etc..

yes, it does but good to see that ARY Digital has improved during this Pakistan VS India series and this time there was no advertising in the middle, usually happens tho, and finally I think Sky Sports should be better then ARY and others.

Radio, If i listen to radia commentry i'll fall asleep :crying ,worst thing.

This time ARY had the Sky Sports feed. The only thing that I can remember is when a boundary was hit a small text appeared of a sponsor. Apart from that there wasn't anything annoying for me. Also during the drink breaks there were commercials.

There is some rolling text during match, but that's just the statistics of a current play.

^^ ohh yes , that thing made me soo angry i was about to smash the TV screen (no joke), ARY can't live without those.

Sounds like ARY is better than when I last saw it now which is good if they get the rights. I suppose we will have to wait until tomorrow to find out!

I listened to the Twenty20 match and the start of the Ashes with that. It was pretty good. They tell you some things that you even won't hear on TV. Even the minister Howard was on a show there.

What made you angry? The rolling text? This time it didn't appear.

I think First test match is gone be a draw, coz both teams look strong.

that thing zexy, that mad blue thing.

the tv thing is a shame. here in oz Foxtel picks up whatever Sky gets...so we miss out as well. with india's injury concerns it looks like england might get a look in after all....should be a ripper series. i'm pretty sure when we won there in 04 it was the pace battery that did all the damage, so there's no reason why england can't do the same. apart from tres though, they all still look highly dodgy facing spin and i think this will be the deciding factor. i'm positive the english bowlers can restrict india to low totals, it's just a matter of whether their batsmen can do their bit.

by the way - who is blackwell? cricinfo's england players section seems to be down. is he a young fella or has he been plucked for his 40th birthday celebrations like Udal?

It isn't that bad. Sometimes it doesn't even come.

I guess Yuvraj's injury will give a place for Ganguly in the team. I think the Indian line-up will be:

Sehwag
Gambhir
Dravid
Tendulkar
Laxman
Ganguly
Dhoni
Pathan
Harbhajan
Kumble
Zaheer

I can't see the selectors dropping Zaheer, as they haven't in the past, even when he has not been performing. But they should look at getting another guy in. Perhaps they'll drop Gambhir and play Agarkar or Sreesanth. It'll be interesting.

If Sehwag misses out, then India should play both Gambir and Jaffer. Since in the last match, Sehwag and Yuvraj played other than Dravid, Laxman, Tendulkar and Ganguly, Gambhir and Jaffer will replace Sehwag and Yuvraj! We will then have two specialist openers opening the batting. I seriously hope that case is not in question. Sehwag should be ready. If its his day, then I pity the England bowlers! They will get massacred!

India needs to play a right arm fast bowler (or medium pacer to be precise!). If its a two man pace bowling attack, Irfan should be accompanied by a right armer (Agarkar/Sreesanth/VRV/Munaf) whoever! All depends on the Nagpur wicket. If it supports the seamers, I see India going in with three seamers. Nagpur is that notorious ground where Ganguly saw green on the wicket and opted out of the test against Australia. I am waiting for a green top!

Well, cause of the money the English people can't see the cricket of their home series on TV as a normal channel and they have to pay for it. Every country has such deals.

Also in the article is stated that for Sehwag a decision will be made tomorrow. Ganguly was normally already in the Test team, so Gambhir or Jaffer could profit from Yuvraj Singh's abscence. And Yuvraj Singh being injured is a big deal.

But still its money though and the Nimbus guys arent wrong if they want to get more money out of it!

well, it all depends on the wicket. if you feel he english bowlers can still restrict india to low totals on batting wickets, well you might be a bit too positive! anyways, cant rule out anything. but certainly on batting and home conditions, india hold the advantage and start off as favorites!

in fact, that might end up as a blessing in disguise for the englishmen coz the team that is the underdogs have less pressure to perform!

No the annoucment that was meant to be made today by Nimbus hasnt been made yet. Whoever wins it will have a tough job getting stuff ready in 7 days as well!
