Making such a comment after winning the Ashes on home soil is not so clever. You must admit that the Pakistani pacers have been bowling really well and have outdone the English batsmen on two 2nd innings.
But then both the England collapses have been in their 2nd Innings, and on fifth day pitches.

England have done well in their 1st innings, in both matches. I would like to see Pakistan win/draw a match after fielding first.

I'd say the batsmen have undone themselves. We've seen that the pitches have been good if you can graft and get in but too many of our top order want to score big runs too quickly.

True, the pitches have been good. Rash shots, over confidence and perhaps under rating Pakistan have been England's faults in this series so far. But to be honest, Pakistan have bowled with a certain fire, especially in the 2nd innings of each match and that is what has really suprised England, I doubt they thought (prior to the series) that Pakistan could rip through them at any point in the matches.

I wonder, wheres the "Australian-Pakistanis"?

Surely they would be celebrating, wouldn't they? :p

By the way, if any of the "Australian-Pakistanis" are interested, the Pakistani Online Community are having a big chat room party on the night of the match :o

Tell me if your interested ;)

Free Pepsi, and uhm well you know, that stuff

Before the start on day 5 of each Tests it was said the pitch was still good for batting. And that came out the mouth of Botham (in the first Test with Waqar Younis and second Test alone).

Collingwood is hoping to play again

Giles will miss the ODI series. Don't know if that is good or bad news for England.

Giles to miss Pakistan one-dayers

Well maybe some better news for England: Vaughan could probably miss the ODI's. He is having problems with running and stuff like that. Captaincy will be missed, but not the batting.

Well, I'll say this again - I want to see the home side win a match after fielding first. If they do I'll readily accept defeat. Something tells me it wont be third time lucky for Inzy with the toss.

And I know Andrew wont agree with me here, but we will actually miss Giles in the ODIs. He does a pretty important job in the 50 over game, and that is of containing the batsmen and frustrating them into losing their wicket. Ive noticed this myself, and during the Natwest series, Michael Holding mentioned the very same thing. He also does a very handy job with the bat whenever needed. And really, since we dont have a world class spinner in the team yet, I'd say Gilo is our best number seven.

Your comments regarding Non-acceptance of defeat just goes to show the kind of disappointment you have. The fact is that Pakistan has fairly and squarely beaten England in first test and came out the stronger team in the second. Making lame excuses like the luck with the toss wont change anything. England may still comeback in the 3rd but I am sure You wont hear any pakistani fans saying they dont accept the defeat.

So dude wake up and smell the coffee. Beating Aussies does not mean you cant be beaten.

I just had to ask you this. Inzamam made 59 runs and Shoaib Akhtar stuck around for 60 balls on the fifth day pitch. KP and Freddie looked invincible for a good hour or so on that same pitch. Giles and Jones led England to safety on that same pitch.

Did the English top order play on a different pitch? Or could it be that Naved and Akhtar did a superb job with the new ball? Give credit where it is due.

Why should Pak need to shut any one up. Pakistan has played better cricket and thats the bottomline. The way the team has performed I am sure they wud won even if they had lost the toss. Dont forget that Pakistan scored only 260 in first innings of first test which I think negated to a great extent their advantage of batting first.

Toss may matter but when it comes to a team like Australia it hardly has much impact on the match. Why should Pak need to shut any one up. Pakistan has played better cricket and thats the bottomline. Actually it was 274. Pakistan may or may not have won if they fielded first, but the point is that they did bat first and they did win in an awesome test match. Why can't people accept that England got beat? You won't hear any excuses coming out of the England camp, just the bitter fans.

P.S: I thought all we had to do was win one test match against the number 2 team to shut every one up. :D
