Regarding the run out, some commentators argued that the bails hadn't completely dislodged in the same frame that showed Butt was still out of his crease, so Butt was given the benefit of the doubt. Having said that, I still say he was out.

Indeed. There was one camera angle that was exactly in line with the crease which showed him to be clearly out. The other camera was at a slight angle and from the clips i've seen, thats the last angle the 3rd umpire looked at. But anyway, as I said, well played to the young man, took advantage of his life.

By adding an extra 20 runs :D

Bit of a mixed bag today.

Hoggy and Flintoff bowled well with the new ball, Harmison mopped up well and Bell took a great catch off of Giles.

Bell just about survived the afternoon.

still 9 wickets left and they only need 174 to win...

I have said it before and would say it again we need expectional performance from our bowlers to win this one..

I still believe that if Pakistan can get one of the 2 batsmen in the first few overs today, England might crumble . Their middle order hasn`t been in the best of touches and kaneria would be quite a handful to face on the last day !

Iam excited about seeing 2 great contests tomorrow , India V SA ODI and the last day of this test !
I back Pakistan to at least pick up 7 wickets even if they do not win !

It won`t be as easy as it looks for England . Still a lot of work to be done

Expectional...I think we need extar ordianry performance.Kaneria should show his magic

Batting on day 5 is always going to be difficult, especially if its in the subcontinent. But then this England side isnt the 2nd best team for no reason. They will have to show the same character that they have shown over the past two years.

Somehow I expect Kevin Pietersen to hit the winning runs tomorrow.

The pitch wont turn by that much just overnight. he was barely spinning it alright with a new ball but still it's not a spinning pitch.

I dont think he'll do much damage. He isnt in the same class as SK Warne.

The main wicket was Trescothick. They got him. Too bad Sami missed the run out chance, otherwhile this would really be a match. The way Shabbir Ahmed was bowling could give some hope for Pakistan.

England are still favourites to win. I reckon the match will end in second session. Either it will be a win for Pakistan or England.

m_vaughan I think Kaneria can cause considerable damage on a fifth day pitch. Even though he is not in the same class as Warne, he has enough variations and guile to climb into your line-up which is a touch short of experience. This game is pretty much open as both teams can snatch victory from each other. Pakistan should look to remove Strauss and Bell before England reach 50, otherwise the game is half lost. Hopefully Akhtar, Shabbir and Kaneria can turn this game on its head and win it for Pakistan!

P.S.A brilliant century by Butt, has really shown good composure and temperament.

trescothick wasplum lbw on 48 as well. so pakistan has to make extra 150 runs anyway but it only cost england 20 odd runs.

The decision wasn't to prove too costly, though - he was out 19 runs later. And if England feel at all aggrieved then they would do well to remember that Trescothick could have gone when he was on 48, and he went on to add a further 145 runs.

Bell was given out on a No Ball aswell.

Kaneria won't turn it that much it's not a big spinning wicket. Udal didn't turn it much and he spins it about as much as Kaneria imo.

This is for the taking by England. Disappointing performance from Pakistan so far!
