What the hell?

Why are you all going through the Englands teams weaknesses?

Why dont you look at your own team, before coming to criticise a team in form.

Also, bare in mind if we win this match, we sould have Vaughan back for the second who makes crucial decisions!
LOL it was a joke, although somewhatly true

Vaughan and Trescothick in my opinion have the same captaining level. Batting level is a different story

Pakistan have let themselves down in this match with their first innings performance. Thats why I'm quite worried about the rest of the series - England cannot count on a head start in the two remaining tets.

I'm still backing England to make the required runs tomorrow. Bell is in quite good form, if he and say, Flintoff or Strauss make 50's we're practically there.

Pakistan are certainly not out of it, but will need a great performance to win the match.

Bell, Collingwood certainly isn't my fantasy 3 and 4. You shouldn't be shocked by the idea of 3 or 4 making a century, you should expect it.

I am actually warming (slowly) to Ian Bell. I thought his performance in the first innings was very impressive. To judge him solely on his Ashes performances against the best spinner ever is a tad mean. If he continues to play well in this series then I would happily keep him in the team. Collingwood on the other hand I feel is a careless choice given his age and his all-round mediocrity (apart from his awesome fielding abilities). I think England would be far better served by Robert Key, Owais Shah, Ed Joyce, or possibly Alastair Cook. KP and Flintoff are too mercurial to have someone else in the middle order who is not a first-rate batsman.

I dont think he'll do much damage. He(Kaneria) isnt in the same class as SK Warne.
It is too early in his career to judge whether he is in th same league as warnie ! Give him time guys . He is a real prospect . Iam sure he`ll be the next big leg spinner from the subcontinent after Anil Kumble . He has bowled well and taken wickets in India which even Warnie could not achieve ! He sure has the talent .
I feel Kaneria along with Shoaib are the ones to do the damage if PAkistan were to win this one !
AS I said earlier , we need a wicket or two in the first 5 or six overs ! That would really set it up for a cracker . KP is not in the best of touches , so is Collingwood . Its very important to get through Strauss .

Ian bell has some time to go before he is a permentent fixture in the english side. The same applies to Salman Butt. It has to be a consitent batsman to be in the international side not just 2 or 3 games. I think everyone can improve their innings in this game.

I wouldn't bring back Key. He just seems gone to me but I haven't paid any attention to your first class comp so may be you have seen something I haven't.
For me I would bring in Cook, he has the makings of a star after that knock.

On Collingwood, its surpising how bad he is in tests. From what I have seen of him in ODIs he has a good technique and the patience to bat a real long inns.

I don't know why Key would even come into selection, he is a bit like Mark Cosgrove.

Granted, Robert Key doesn't have the most prolific stats (Ave.:31) but he has a Test Match double century against the West Indies to his credit along with three other 50+ scores. And despite his appearance, he is only 26. To his detriment, he is poor in the field and it is my belief that his weight and the effect on his ability to field are the only things keeping him out of the squad.

Alastair Cook only has 36 First Class matches behind him at an average of 41. The last player who got into the team with such short experience was James Anderson who started well and then fell apart. Probably too soon for him as he's only 20.

Owais Shah was the leading runs scorer in the County Championship last year and is probably our version of Michael Hussey. Enough said.

Ed Joyce has a First Class average of 47 and is an Irishman. Given that we employ a South African (or two) and a couple of Welshmen, his nationality would clearly be no obstacle.

Matt Prior is also a South African. :p
