Nasser Hussain has been accused of verbally abusing Muttiah Muralitharan during the morning session at Kandy. The Sri Lanka team management filed an official complaint to Clive Lloyd, the match referee, during the afternoon. Lloyd is due to make a statement later today.

The incident happened as Muralitharan walked out to bat in Sri Lanka's first innings. Sources close to the Sri Lankan team claim that Hussain swore at Muralitharan and called him "a ******* cheat and a ******* chucker".

Muralitharan brought the matter to the attention of the umpires, Daryl Harper and Aleem Dar, before reporting to the Sri Lanka team management at the end of the innings.

When will England learn how to finish off the Sri Lankan tail. They are putting on as many if not more runs than the top order

Agreed Phil.
As for the Nasser/Murali thing; obviously I don't condone verbally abusing an opponent, and it may be raking up old ashes, but I've got to say I agree about the chucking. I know he's undergone tests and whatnot to prove he's got funny bones (in layman's terms!), but everytime I see him bowl I'm more and more convinced he chucks it.
Nothing against Murali, as I geniunely like him as a player; he seems to really enjoy his cricket. But as for his action...just makes me wonder how much turn he'd get if he bowled with a straight arm?

Nasser Hussain has been cleared of verbally abusing Muttiah Muralitharan, after an incident on the second day's play at Kandy. But Clive Lloyd, the ICC match referee, has cautioned England and Sri Lanka's cricketers, and warned that he will deal "very harshly" with any further transgressions.
