I am glad the selectors chose some 'specialists' and you can never please everybody with a squad of 15.

I think for England to have the best chance of winning, either Snape or Maddy should have been named as captain. I have nothing against Collingwood but he has never captained a T20 game before and it is totally different from captaining any other form of the game.
It is hard to judge who did well this year because of the bad weather but Loye scored 263runs and Rampraksh 265runs so I believe one of those two should have got the nod ahead of Solanki.

The thing about Kent players is that is Sussex had won on Saturday some people would say they picked Wright and Kirtley just because they won and the same would have happened with say Key and/or Denly.

Anderson wasn't picked because his record is 17 wickets@34, 8.93econ.
Hopefully Kirtley can produce the sort of yorkers and slower-balls we have seen him do in a Sussex shirt. Schofield is a good pick ahead of Panesar because of his experience and lower-order hitting. In T20 this is crucial. If Jon Lewis hadn't of blasted 20-odd on Saturday Gloucester would never have come so close to winning.

The problem is Australia's test and ODI players are more suited to T20 naturally. Compare Hayden to Cook, Ponting to Vaughan, Bracken to Anderson, Symonds to Bell. England are capable of reaching the semis and possibly the final but I think the Aussies will be too strong.

didnt kp smash the aussies about in 2005 in a 2020 and win the game for england aswel, if he can get back into that mode, we have a good chance in this tornument.

if kirtley can bowl all the variations that he bowls at the death of an innings for sussex, which he should be able to do, thats four good overs out of 20.

schofield can bowl some good legspin that will tease world class batsman if he throws it up there, he will get hit a few times but that can bring wickets in itself.

Maddy should be able to play as good for england as he does for warwickshire in one day/2020 matches.

All in all id say that england have a very good chance at getting somewhere in this tornument, good batting, good bowling attack. i could be posting on here in september the complete oppersite though, i dought it though

yeah he did do that at the oval but I was questioning his captaincy credentials for this tournament not his playing credentials as he is a good T20 player to have.

They should have picked Doshi. What Animator said about Schofield is absolutely true. Unfortunately his season stats don't reflect how he's actually got his wickets. Still, it doesn't matter how you get them out etc...

That's how a lot of spinners have taken their wickets though. Once you get to first class level, you're not going to find many bowlers who are good enough or get enough turn to actually beat a batsman, they just have to wait for a mistake. Doshi and Snape take a fair share of wickets caught on the fence as well.
