England National football team thread

According to what I'm reading Richards isn't in either. Andy Carroll is though. Who wouldn't pick Liverpool players ahead of City and Utd ones?
Just waiting to hear that Stuart Downing is in...

----------

I was joking about Downing but it seems that he is in and so is Glenn Johnson. Probably not the best time for Liverpool to form half the England team.

News link please.

Jordan Henderson is apparently a back-up player too. My theory is that Hodgson is picking the entire Liverpool team to prove he's better at managing them than King Kenny...

How on earth Downing gets selected despite the having a horrible season? And there's only one natural right-back in the squad, and no Richards, poor selection. Maybe Roy could've selected Lennon instead of Alex, for he's far too young.

I'm guessing Downing's selection comes from the fact that there are not much left-footed wingers in England. But again, there's Adam Johnson.

Hopefully Roy can justify his selections at the Euro.

Carrick's not even on standby? Downing? No Sturridge? :lol

I swear, whoever takes the England job suddenly turns into a spineless, clueless cretin.

Vive le France!

Maybe having France first up isn't a bad thing - like us, they often start slowly. Get that out of the way, if we can get a draw that'll be a good result.

Yeah, I still like Italy but would be nice to see Blanc succeed in resurrecting Les Bleus from the mess Domenech left them in.
