David Gower: Well going through those stats, you might have noticed that Gibbs scored above 20% of the total runs of South Africa. Also, Shaun Pollock's contribution with the bat was so very important for the home side.

For England, Andrew Strauss was a disappointment, scoring just 111 runs in 6 innings. Steve Harmison also picked up just 6 wickets in the series, after his 30 wickets in the test series, that won him the man of the series.

Yup to add realism to the thing, I did not pick players who are injured. So no Flintoff and Murali for World and Asia XI respectively.

He is fit. Its just that the PCB dont want to play him because he does not get along with the skipper Inzamam.
So he's goes to play with the ACC XI because he gets along with with skipper, Inzamam.

Hang on

World XI drop Shoaib

The World XI has dropped pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar from the squad. They have said that the reason for this was that Shoaib was still not a 100% fit.

Shoaib will be replaced by fellow countryman, Mohammad Sami.

However many believe that he was dropped due to Inzamam's appointment as skipper of the team. Inzamam and Shoaib have had problems between them for Pakistan, and now it seems the feud has carried onto the Asian scene as well. Inzamam had asked for Shoaib being dropped from the Pakistan side that toured India, and there is every chance that he might have done the same again.
