Story England's Internationals - England v WI - England win series 2-0

Vaughan hit a cut over the top and then you say it was his first boundary from that cover drive?

Think you need to change that!

But great start by England but 2 quick wickets and these two need a decent partnership :)
Nice presentation Phil, keep it up :clap

Cheers, just changed that now.

Thanks for all the comments guys, I appreciate them.

Here comes my fav player... P - i - e - t - e - r - s - e - n :happy To all Windies bowlers, just beaware of this dangerman & To Lara, he wud be seeing Sachin like innings soon(from Kp)! :p

Hope Kp doesn't get out after making such high expectations on him ;)

England in a good position. If this partnership prospers then England could build a healthy total.

Vaughan hits a 4 through the covers to move England?s score onto 176/2.

Wonderful straight down the ground from KP, the best shot of this England innings so far.

Vaughan sweeps Dave Mohammed for four runs. The spinner has been bowling very economically today but he has to watch out.

And the next ball, Vaughan flicks off his back foot and because of the lack of a fine leg, it goes all the way to the boundary. England are 199/2 now.

Just 2 balls later, and Mohammed gets his man. Vaughan tries to play a cover drive off the back foot and the ball goes straight through the gate.

And he takes the long walk back to the pavilion knowing he should have got more. He goes for 40 from 57 balls.

The next man in is Ian Bell. He will want to prove that Tom Moody was correct for picking him instead of Paul Collingwood.

Oh dear, oh dear. In the penultimate ball before tea, Pietersen plays a mis-judged hook shot and top edges it to Dave Mohammed at square leg, as Taylor gets his first wicket. The West Indies are fighting back as England are 201/4.

The next man at the crease is all-rounder Andrew Flintoff.

Thats bad Taylor  :p

Anyways, England do look good atm but they have to see not to collapse now!

In the fourth over after tea, Bell finally gets off the mark with a lovely clip off the pads for four runs.

And another clip off the pads for four from the Warwickshire batsman, he moves on to 10*.

Bell tries sweeping and is caught by short leg. England are in real danger of collapsing here.

Well a poor performance by Bell in the first innings, if he doesn?t improve second time around his spot could come under pressure by Paul Collingwood.

The wicketkeeper Chris Read comes to the crease, he will want to get runs under his belt.

Now there?s attacking play if ever there was some, Flintoff cuts straight over the head of point for 4 runs. His first boundary moves him on to 18*.

Oh, a bit of luck there, Flintoff?s late on to that one and edges it straight over the slip cordon.

Lovely square drive by Chris Read, his jerky style of batting is frustrating the West Indians as he is on 18* from as many balls.

Read hits another boundary, this time through the leg side.

After that brief flurry, Read exits for 29 from 28 balls. He tried to cut Fidel Edwards but instead edged the paceman to wicketkeeper Ramdin.

So that wicket means that the tail is exposed, and Matthew Hoggard comes in at 8, the score is 270/6.

Woohoo! The crowd are getting going now, as Flintoff hits a massive six over mid-wicket from the bowling of Dave Mohammed.

Now Hoggard has been run out for just four runs. Flintoff needs to bat well with the tail now. 280/7

And Flintoff skies one, its in the air, ooooh, just over the fielder at mid-off.

Oh, good shot, Flintoff uses his crease and plays the ball down to the vacant fine leg position for four runs off the back foot.

Oh yes, another 6 over mid-wicket for Flintoff. Mohammed is taking a bit of a battering from the Lancastrian here. He?s on 47* from 48 balls.

Andrew Flintoff brings up a majestic 50 with a magnificent straight six off Fidel Edwards.

The big man is finally out, as he is early on a ball from Edwards and plays it to square leg. He?s gone for 54 from 54 delieveries.

It?s Monty time! Panesar strolls to the crease with the ambition of getting his maiden test century!

England 305/8
Harmison 1*
Panesar 1*

Mohammed 3-73
Edwards 2-68

I'm enjoying this story mate, nice and simple. I feel if England can get up to 330+ they'll be in a very healthy position.

David Gower: Well hello, interesting session of play here, England's tail need to get some runs to get England up to 350. Send in your views on this day's play and then at the end of the day, myself, David Lloyd and Ian Botham will comment on them.

I was surprised by how cheaply we have lost our wickets for given the fact the Winides attack isn't that strong

We lost quick wickets now we have to get the score past 400 . Can Monty score a century ?? :) harmi can bat as well. Nice presentation mate.
