Story England's Internationals - England v WI - England win series 2-0

The good news is that the England bowlers did not put money ahead of country but the bad news is that they still actually have to dismiss Lara.

In other news, Mr Suren Ram of India has today been arrested after admitting to trying to bribe the England bowling attack to let Brian Lara get a double hundred in the ongoing test match at Trent Bridge. It is reported that Mr Ram had a ?1000 bet on the West Indian getting a double hundred. Despite England's recent money troubles, the bowling attack did not agree to this bribe and instead quickly reported it to the police

Where is a person called Phil who is the main man behind all these??? ;) :p

Anyways, these extra things are going interesting mate :clap But still happy that Lara is there at the crease! Windies in deep trouble though. Com'on Lara..smash them! :)

This is a very good story Phil. The presentation is so simple but I love it.

Jimmy get some wickets you handsome devil. :p

Sarwan gets off the mark with a pull through square leg off the bowling of Andrew Flintoff.

Panesar replaces Jimmy Anderson in the attack, Anderson bowled 2 overs, and they were both maidens, but really did not look like getting a wicket.

Woah! Flintoff has grabbed the wicket which has put England right on top, it?s the big man, Lara! He tried pulling a ball which was in no way short enough, and skied it to Kevin Pietersen at mid-wicket. It stayed in the air for a long time. That?s Flintoff second wicket.

Lara makes his way back to the pavilion for just 10 runs. The West Indies are 44/4. This is a sad moment for Suren Ram, who has just lost ?1000. Dwayne Bravo enters the crease.

Dwayne Bravo gets off the mark with a shot that the West Indians have used a lot today, the hook shot. He timed it perfectly and was a very stylish shot that went to the boundary for four runs

Bravo gets his second four as he guides the ball down to fine leg off the front foot.

And now with the score on 52/4, the players all go off their field to have their roast dinners as lunch is called. Its been an excellent morning for the home side, taking wickets and keeping the flow of runs right down.

You put that Lara got out for 16, but he actually made 10.

Cheers for that, just changed it now.

Cheers for all the positive comments.

Sarwan opens up his arms and hooks Flintoff through backward square leg in the second over after lunch.

Bravo guides a Panesar delivery down to third man for four. He?s racing away at over a run a ball and that?s his third four. The West Indies have started positively after lunch and are now 61/4.

That?s poor wicket keeping. A Flintoff slower ball goes straight through the hands of Chris Read for 4 byes.

Lovely hook by Ramnaresh Sarwan and it moves him onto 13* and the West Indies onto 69/4.

The same shot from Sarwan but finer this time and the result is the same, a boundary. He is onto 17*.

Wow, Sarwan?s really going on the attack here, his second boundary of the over moves him on to 21*. This time the shot is a stylish square drive.

This time a cover drive for Sarwan, same result. That is the third boundary of the over and Flintoff is taking a beating.

Flintoff comes around the wicket for his next over, but that?s still no use, as he gets smacked for four this time from Bravo, he moves onto 17*

Bravo just clips a ball from Anderson off his legs for four, the Windies have moved onto 91/4.

And the next ball gets the same treatment but this time Bravo hooks to the boundary from Jimmy Anderson.

That?s the third four in 3 balls now, this time Bravo cuts through point, he moves to 30* off 29. Anderson and Flintoff are giving away runs here, things have to change.

Off the last ball of the over the trend continues. 4 successive fours in 4 successive balls from Bravo now, against Anderson.

Steve Harmison is brought into the attack and immediately gets the crucial wicket of Ramnaresh Sarwan. The batsman played a cover drive but ballooned it straight to Alastair Cook who was waiting at cover.

Ramnaresh Sarwan walks back to the Trent Bridge pavilion having made 25 off 62 balls. He really speeded up his strike rate towards the conclusion of his innings, but will be annoyed not to have gone on further.

With the score on 103/5, wicket keeper Denesh Ramdin is brought to the crease following the tame dismissal of Sarwan.

England 348

West Indies (38 Overs)
Bravo 34* (30)
Ramdin 0* (1)

Hoggard 9-2-13-1
Harmison 8-3-20-2
Flintoff 11-3-42-2
Anderson 5-3-17-0
Panesar 5-2-6-0

England must not allow the lower order to build partnerships as they so often do. The home are very much on top atm though.

I never expected Windies to play so poorly :( Bravo & Ramdin need to build atleast a 100 run partnership!

Lara has gone back to dressing room only to reserve his energy to play well in second innings :D Not becos of great bowling ;) :)

Dwayne Bravo cuts Jimmy Anderson for another 4. He is now on 38* from 31 balls and 36 off his 38 runs have come from fours.

And 2 balls later, Bravo plays a risky hook but it pays off as he gets four runs for his effort. West Indies have now moved onto 111/5.

And the next ball is launched high in to the 2nd tier, as Bravo frees his arms and blasts Anderson over the top to move onto 48* from 34 balls. We?ve only had 4 balls of this over but already Anderson has conceded 14 runs to the bat
of Dwayne Bravo.

And on the 5th ball of the over, Bravo this another six back over the head of the bowler to move him onto his half-century. It?s been an excellent 54* so far from Bravo but he has to convert this into a hundred. 20 runs from the over so far, with one ball to go.

And Bravo salutes the crowd while celebrating his 50, it really has been a masterclass of hitting, with 10 fours and 2 sixes.

Ramdin hits the second ball of his innings for four, a Harmison bouncer.

Ramdin flicks Harmison for four through a backward square-leg position.

Bravo hits Harmison just past mid-on for four runs off the front foot.

And now Bravo has cut Harmison for four runs through point and moves onto 64*.

Harmison gets his revenge with the next ball, as he bowled a slower ball to Bravo who tried to launch him for another 6 but he didn?t make contact and went straight into his leg stump. The Windies are 6 wickets down.

With the West Indies struggling at 142/6, Dave Mohammed comes to the crease. He made 50 last year to help the West Indies draw a test match against India at Antigua. A similar knock here would be useful for his team.

He is unable to deliver, as he goes for just 2 after falling for Steve Harmison?s trap and hitting it straight to Andrew Strauss. This innings could be over soon as the West Indies are now 152/7 and Steve Harmison has taken 4-38 so far.

Corey Collymore arrives at the crease with his side being completely overpowered by a rampant England side.

Denesh Ramdin flicks off his pads as Monty Panesar concedes four runs.

These tail enders are really having a problem with the short ball and now Harmison has got Collymore with it, that?s his 5-for.

No.10 Jerome Taylor arrives at the crease with the West Indies at 156/8 and Harmison firing like he did against the same opponents in 2004.

Keeper Ramdin tries a heave over cow corner and is comprehensively bowled by spinner Monty Panesar for just 13 runs.

Ramdin makes the long walk back to the pavilion having failed. They have now lost 2 wickets with the score on 156 and so are now 156/9.

Fidel Edward?s is the West Indies last man in, he will hope to do a similar job to which James Anderson did in England?s innings.

Harmison has finished the innings off 4 overs later with a ball to dismiss Jerome Taylor for a duck. Harmison finished off with superb figures of 6-38.

David Gower: We will now have a couple of overs of England batting before tea.

With England leading by 192 runs on first innings, Alastair Cook and Andrew Strauss come out to bat for just one over before tea is called.

After one over, England are 5/0, and the players come off for tea. A pretty pointless very-mini session there.

England 348

West Indies 156

England 5/0

Cook 4* (3)
Strauss 1* (3)

Taylor 1-0-5-0
