Story England's Journey To The ASHES 09 - Natwest Tri-Series: ENG v IND FINAL!

Now that would piss me off if that happened. Can't you try turning the clock back with mchEditor and replay the innings?

Second npower Test Match, Old Trafford - Lunch Day 5

Hi there viewers we hope your enojying the action thus far. All we can say is, this innings has been a joke. The English will not be happy and well we don't think theres hope of winning this test match. The draw seems their best bet.

WINDIES BLOW ENGLAND AWAY!

Take a look at some of these wickets, the England boys couldn't stop the constant fall of wickets that was ocuring regularly. As soon as we thought a partnership will build up, a wicket would fall.

The first to go was Strauss for naught. Dismissed in exactly the same fashion as the last innings, he was given lbw to a ball that pitched in line and would have crashed onto hit middle or middle and off stump. Then Cook went. He also looked good until he flashed out to a half volly that didn't do anything except nick it to slip. Things were not looking good for England after this point

Vaughan was timing the ball early and nicely but things were going how they were all day he was out, cover drive straight to the cover fielders hands. England lost all hope when Pietersen was run out stupidly, sent back. It was the last thing England needed at this point. Now the last hope is Solanki and Flintoff they are both playing with solid technique, don't forget this is still a good batting pitch...

Natwest Series, Let The Battles Begin!

Important Notice:
The three match test series has been called off, somehow my EA Sports folder had disappeared. I think I may have deleted it when I was raging at how messy My Doccuments were. So I call the test series off as a win for the West Indies 2-0, and will play the Natwest Series now!

INDIA ARRIVE FOR THE ODI SERIES!

The Indian team have finally arrived for the Natwest Series, and then their tour of England which is pretty darn lenghty. The Indians are thinking positive and will want to win this trophy to give their tour an extra boost so that they can really take the game to the hosts later on in the summer.

Were all expecting a good battle in this series with all the teams fired up, as the Indian captain M.Dhoni let us know that his boys are fired up, heres a few words he shared with us shortly after arriving at Heathrow airport.

"We've been looking forward to playing England in England for a long time now, so were hoping for a good start most of our players have been in good domestic form but we know we'll need than that to win convincingly. We should have the wood on England as they lost to a weak West Indian test side so hopefully we can squash their one day hopes to. But fight talk aside, I think it will be a good fair series!"

So thats the thoughts of Dhoni, his boys will be fired up. There are a few key players in the Indian side that can tip a match to one side, two of them are shown below. I think we all agree when the heat is on these two can produce the goods. Especially Yuvraj who has a great track record verses England...

Gutted about the EA folder. I did that once :(. Should be a good tri-series.

Yeah, really annoying when you do that, I should know as well. Oh well, the Windies unfortunately get the Test series but the England team can redeem themselves.

England can certainly redeem themselves here all they need to do is stay focused and keep the eye on the prize

NATWEST SERIES, 1st ODI, ENGLAND vs WEST INDIES - OLD TRAFFORD

We are ready to roll here for the first Natwest Series matchup between England and the Windies. This will be a heated encounter as England are really disappointed in losing the test series, so they will want revenge big time here. The lineups have been released and it seems like England have gone for a good balanced approach to their one day side. Although there will be a few question marks over a few players heads.[/FONT]

THE LINEUPS!

The West Indies lineup looks pretty strong, the arrival of Dewayne Bravo will help them and the pace of Tino Best should also give them a good chance of doing well in this Natwest Series. However their upper order will have to score runs quickly and a big question mark over the head of Chanderpaul, but he will undoubtidly play a anchor style innings and let the others build their innings around him, overall the Windies look like they have put together a evenly balanced team!

Englands team has a few changes. The much media pressed Vikram Solanki has been replaced by Matt Prior who England will be hoping does a better job with the gloves as it's so crucial to get every wicket in a ODI match. We don't know much about him with the bat but hopefully for England he can produce the goods when needed. Talking about batting England seem to bat a long way down the order, something we've seen from Teams like Pakistan and Australia, they have players who bat a long way down, and it seems England have taken that route. The beauty of this is that despite batting such a long way down the order England still have a solid bowling attack which will be lead by Harmison, Flintoff and Anderson, these three men need to get them early breakthroughs. Monty Panesar has also been included in the squad, spin bowling is ever so important in an ODI. Last but not least Vaughan has been replaced by Owais Shah and Collingwood takes Ian Bell's spot, with Kevin Pietersen taking over the captains roll. We can't wait to see how things pan out now!
