Australia In The Drivers Seat

Worrying signs for England as Australia are commanding and are looking to win this match as the partnership between Symonds and Clarke is building up nicely and now Australia are getting closer to the target required . M.Clarke came in and played few wonderful strokes and gave good support to A.Symonds who was playing nicely and they got the partnership going at a good rate as well. Inspite of losing quick wickets in the start Australia are now dominating and now England need to do something quickly or else Australia will run away with vicorty. Monty and Flintoff are bowling a good line and are trying to keep the scoring rate down but Australia are getting the odd boundary and the required rate is maintened just under 5 rpo. Clarke is playing well on 31 with 2 boundaries while A.Symonds scored his 50 in just 57 balls. Symonds innings got Australia back in the match after the dreadful start early on. This partnership has worked for 50 runs as Australia reach 150 runs and now they need only 95 runs to win with a required rate of 4.75 rpo.

Monty's twin strikes puts England back on track

Suddenly there is a dramatic turnaround as England are right back in the match as Monty got 2 big Australian wickets in the same over and now England are back in the match and the tail is exposed now and now Australia are in some sort of trouble but the required rate is less than 4 rpo so it is possible to reach the target if Aussies play some sensible cricket and keep wickets in hand while England need just 3 wickets to win the match which is looking easy at this stage.

After scoring 50 run partnership for the 6th wicket Australia were looking in a stronger position and it seemed like they will reach the target with no trouble at all . Finally Andrew Flintoff gave the ball to Monty Panesar and he started bowling well keeping good line and length and somehow he was giving less runs . M.Clarke went for a big shot on the on side trying to unsettle Panesar but he mistimed it and the ball didn't get the right elevation which Clarke expected and gave away a simple catch to Sajid Mahmood. England finally managed to break the partnership between Clarke and Symonds and now they were in the tail and needed to capitalize on this opportunity . they got men near the bat but Hogg managed to pick up a single and gave the strike to Symonds . Monty bowled an arm ball to Symonds who eventually went for the sweep shot but failed to pick up the arm ball and he missed it completely and the ball just clipped the off-stump . Monty was the hero for England as he showed the way back to Clarke and Symonds in a single over. Aussies are now in some trouble as Hogg and Lee are in the middle and
Monty struck twice

Aussies are now in some trouble as Hogg and Lee are in the middle and now all the pressure is one this pair to score the required runs. Brett Lee shown signs of confidence as he smashed Flintoff for a well timed boundary through the covers.
