Ponting departs Australia in trouble

Things stared changing in England's favour now as Australia have lost another wicket and this time its the most important wicket of Australian captain Ricky Ponting. But it was bound to happen as Australia were struggling to get bat on ball most of the times as the ball was swinging a lot .
Somehow S.Harmison had started getting his line and length and is getting a nice rythm and variety in his bowling . S.Harmison was struggling with his bowling till last match and now he has started gaining confidence and is troubling the batsmen and is now looking dangerous. Harmison had the field set for Ponting with a short fine leg and he was inviting Ponting to go on the leg side . But Ponting new the tactics of England and he was trying to play as straight as he can . harmison started troubling with the short balls which were targeted in the rib areas and at the last moment it swung away from the body . Even Gilchrist tried for the big ones but he missed it once . Now Australia has to play carefully and score a quicker rate as required run rate is increasing but is under control.

Finally England's tactics worked as Harmison bowled a full delivery bit slower in pace and Ponting played across the line missing it completely. there was huge convincing appeal and it didn't long for Rudy's finger come up and show Ponting his way back to the dressing room. Ponting was shoocked with the decision as he thought that the ball was going down the leg side. He has to walk back and now Australia has lost the important wicket of their captain .

It a big moment for England to capitalize and get few more wickets . Adam Gilchrist is still there and he has already smashed J.Lewis for a huge six on the offside(failed to take the screenshot) and now it will be interesting to see if there is another twist in the tail as Martyn joins Gilchrist.

Australia's top order collapsed

There is a huge turn around as Australia's top order collapsing inside the 1st 15 overs and still they have not crossed 50 runs. England are doing a great job with the new ball and are pitching the ball up to the batsmen and then the ball is getting the movements of the pitch.Australian batsmen has no answer to this England bowling and now they are in a big spot of bother .
After losing 2 wickets England were keeping the pressure on the batsmen and Harmison continued his good bowling and made the batsmen work for their runs. But J.Lewis was smashed for 15 runs in the 10th over of the match and suddenly Australia were moving along nicely with a good run rate. Martyn and Gilchrist started to build a partnership after a slow start and now they are hitting the ball in the gaps and finding the boundaries easily. Gilchrist got a huge six over the covers while Martyn is timing the ball nicely.
Partnership building for Australia

the way Gilchrist was playing there was always a chance for England that he may mistime it or may give a half chance . The big moment came soon as Gilchrist tried to hit another six to Harmison but this time the ball was much slower in pace and Gilchrist was in the short too early and it resulted in a high catch and Monty made no mistakes in taking it . A.Gilchrist made just 12 runs with 1 six in his innings. Hussey was the next man in and he is a danger man when it comes to batting and has scored some 40 odd runs in his last match . England were trying to build the pressure with some good tight fielding but he managed to score a boundary . the next ball as the field was closing in Hussey tried to go over the top but Flintoff was alert and took a fantastic catch to send him back to the pavillion. Australia lost both their dangerous batsmen and now they are really in some spot of bother but still Martyn is batting well and Symonds takes gaurd and still M.Clarke to follow .

Australia Rebuilding

Australia are rebuilding as D.martyn and A.Symonds fightback and now they are now Aussies are in the hunt and the required run rate has still not crossed 6 rpo mark . After losing 4 wickets in 12 overs Australia were under immense pressure and England were on top of the match .But D.martyn and A.Symonds started a fightback and both of them got a 50 partnership for the 5th wicket . D.Martyn played a good patient knock but he was scoring at a good rate and was always talking care that the required run rate will be well inside control and was loking to rorate the strike . While A.Symonds is playing his typical one day innings as he is going hard after the ball and he managed to clear the boundary twice . Symonds i scoring at a quicker rate and now he is starting to look dangerous . Austalia got their 100 runs in just 19 overs and still 31 overs left in the innings and Australia require just 145 runs to win and certainly the match is well balanced.Aussie are still in the match as they have the depth in their batting line up and now the ball is not swinging as much as it was doing the the 1st few overs . England will have to provide a breakthrough soon.
