if it is working then whats the problem? issue is with kl not given the chance to open or india not winning?

kl was out of touch in 4 games he got

pretty sure with upcoming ipl and t20s series with SA and NZ will change things or not

but atleast give time
 
The captain has let out a statement that he wants to continue opening with Rohit Sharma and continue the form until the WC.

That was some nice comeback from us. Bhuvi's spell got us back into the game and helped Thakur take that two wicket. Was a nice series this. Much better compared to the tests.

I do not disagree with him. With Iyer and SKY now in the team and Pandya Pant being the floater it actually makes more sense. If either one of them stay till the end(Rohit/Virat), India could really do well. I am actually pleased he has said that.

A guy has had his best year in cricket for one full year. 4 bad games, and he's history. One good game for this duo and now suddenly this is our combination. Can I ask you? On what basis has Pant been included over Rahul as wicketkeeper batsman? I'll tell you- The same basis that Saha was selected over Pant.

Pant should never have been dropped from any format and Rahul should never have been a keeper in the first place.

It has worked for one game and that's it. This same strategy will look highly idiotic if both go early considering the aura and impact these two have on not just the opposition but also their own dressing rooms. If it comes to being picked between Shreyas and KL (which is basically what the captain is saying) then just based on performance for a period of time, KL should get the nod.

My issue is not with KL being dropped today. My issue is with this claim that this is now our opening combination. In a matter of 5 games, two of our three openers are out of the team (Shikhar & KL)

We might win the World T20 because our talent pool is so vast but this is not far from the farce of the 19WC. Perhaps, this is even worse.

I agree with you that the mentality of indian camp is shit. but if i will wait to criticise till we dont get results.

as i said earlier, we are just a mere spectator to give out our thoughts, which is an easy task

whole another thing to actually go out there and execute it. till its working, just lets acknowledge it,
when it wont, will be the first to criticise it.

the team ending up winning is more important, be it with a ridiculous line up or a good one.
 
Yeah I don't agree with Kohli and Rohit both opening, my XI had Rohit at three to balance it out a bit (might sound crazy, but unless Rohit bats this way consistently him in the powerplay will always be a net loss). Also feels odd to completely exclude the highest run-scorer in the most prestigious league after one and a half bad series (even if it was very bad). I do hope that Rahul takes this as a sign that he needs to get back to his old self as a powerplay aggressor and not just merely as a keeper accumulator because it was the former that got his foot into the T20I side and not the latter.
