If we go back to 2013 Rohit-Dhawan was the best opening pair consistently scoring 50-60 at the top and scored close to 6 runs per over. I agree the ball was seaming around at it always does at Pune. I also agree that Roy-Bairstow pair is a level above every opening pair in world Cricket right now for ODIs, but we could atleast expect a run-rate of 5.50 in the first Powerplay. I think without Kohli we wouldn't have made it to 300 yesterday.

We're going to move the batsman with the most ODI centuries, has the second most ODI runs for England and averages 54 at 3 for the guy who is second choice number 7.These mediocre average didn't justify his talent. Moeen was a brutal opener like Jayasuriya. But Morgan didn't support him for the top order. England needs to select him at no.3 position above Root or Denly. He is a genuine all-rounder & can play aggressive brand of cricket.
