Dhawan back on bench & KL to open once Iyer returns? Actually this does help the team balance. I have been craving for it right since the time we toured West Indies back in 2019.

Also this is no disrespect to Dhawan, he has done his job for the team when they required it but it's time we respect his contributions and let him be a backup for the remaining years in his career.

Being a newbie like Paddikal or Kishan to fit that role. Need someone in post-Rohit era, who is ready.

As an opener? Doesn't seem to be a bad idea but then we won't have the kind of acceleration we need at the end of the innings that is why it would make more sense for him to bat at 5 or 6. No.5 would be best suited.

I think it would be too early to move away from Rohit at this stage. I think he still very much has the ability to single handedly beat any opposition on his day. I think this would be once in every 3rd match he plays. It would take him around 4-5 series without making an considerable contribution. I feel 2023 would be his last major tournament.

Bring in a newbie for Shikhar. Rohit stays. Make that newbie ready for the international stage till Rohit retires. So once Rohit calls it a day, we have a young gun ready to take the mantle.

I think the strategy of going big at the end works well for India but if Pant can tear apart a team with five fielders out I'd like to see how he does with two men out.

Might be worth trying someone like Shaw again. I just think India, with their middle order strength, could look to attack more when there are fewer fielders on the boundary.

That's my thinking. It wouldn't always work but when it does it'd be devastating. At present it feels like the top four are ok using 100 balls or more to get to a century.

Feel like both matches, even though they've scored 300+ they are leaving runs on the park.

That was the most atrocious DRS we have ever taken! BCCI should fine Kohli and Pant for even taking that!
