a) Nani and Anderson most definitely haven't been poor.

b) Nani has played about 60 games of football at the highest level so he's inexperienced and obviously will develop. Anderson has played even less only about 40. For a player to know the league and get enough experience to be comfortable with their own games requires matches before they can be at their best. Also being coached by people like there is at united will help them no end.

c) Every player has a peak in their career, Kaka despite being very good massively improved in the last couple of seasons. It's the same for most goalkeepers peaking past 30. Most players peak around the same time so it would make sense that Anderson and Nani become better around that time.

Some youngsters start off amazing and then just disapear because they were largely a flash in the pan (Francis Jeffers) and others start of very good, and develop into world class players. Rooney is one of these. He's not at his best yet; Wait till he's about 28 and then we'll see the best of him.

Look at Henry as well, he started playing best for Arsenal when he was around about 25.

Rooney just needs a bit of luck with injurys too, how many players can fall over equipment and end up out months?! He'll peak just in time to lead Capellos England to world cup glory :D

Oh, and just thought i'd give mention to James McFadden. He played with Phil O'Donnel at Motherwel so for Jimmy to score today was a perfect tribute.

I think Anderson will be the business, his passing is sublime, he's shown he's got a decent tackle on him (no jokes please:p) and proved it in 2 massive games away at Arsenal and Liverpool, in both games he was immense. I dont know, I see Nani at Old Trafford and theres just something not there, hopefully whatever it is can be fixed.

not much really...lol...nah he's alright...he's still young and has got a lot to learn but he can never be better than the Arsenal Kids...NEVER...lol...

James McFadden is a class act after yesterday. His tribute to O'Donnel I'm meaning. Nice to see some respect and humility froma player.

At first I thought he was just being respectful, but then I realised that we'd signed him from Motherwell and the two must have been good mates. He was very tearful when he was brought off as well; The goal meant so much to him.

Ronaldo had problems when he first joined United though. Nani has the potential to be the next Ronaldo, imagine a Ronaldo quality player on both wings, good luck defending against that. Ronaldo has improved immensely since his debut, he's not strong, good in the air, productive with the ball, goal scoring, just has the attributes of a perfect player. I dont honestly think there's a better player in the world atm, well not a better all-round player anyway. I expect Nani to improve greatly aswell, he has a definite talent, and one heck of a shot. I'm sure Sir Alex will sort him out.

I agree with the Anderson point though, future Paul Scholes ? I think so.

A Paul Scholes that can tackle! Although is goal scoring forms worrying but I'll wait till he gets that first goal and see if he builds on it.

At the end of the day though, it's a striker's job to get goals. A goalscoring midfielder is just a bonus. Ronaldo, Cahill, Gerrard, Cahill, Lampard, Cahill etc etc.
