It was a good game in all, it was going to take the first half an hour or so for Spurs to get back into their stride and for Sunderland to get some idea of what it's like in the Premiership.

I actually thought it was very good at times, at others it went off the boil a bit. Sunderland played really well I feel, they were nicely organised and didn't let good strikers like Berbatov and Keane bother them. They deserved the victory in the end, and it was great for Keano!

Out of the promoted teams, its probably Sunderland who are favourites to stay up in my opinion. They might struggle to score goals though, maybe Chopra should get a few more starts.

wow...first match and a win for keanos lads...atleast they can say they were once first in the premier league...lol...

Newcastle are 3-0 up vs Bolton.

1-0 - N'Zogbia
2-0 - Martins overhead
3-0 - Martins deflection

Tottenham getting beat is one of the best things in the world. I can't stand that bunch of cockney n00bs. Owned by Keano!

Carn you blues.

Something I did notice was how Malbranque played, he looked out of his depth today and most of the things he tried didn't come off. This might well be his last season in the Premiership, this is his last chance, if he doesn't do well then he'll either go abroad or come down to the Championship in my opinion.

Norwich drew 0-0 with Preston, not a bad result, Preston seem to be our bogey team at times, so to get off the mark in our first game away from home is a fair turn out. It's Barnet next for us in the Carling Cup, we should win that, but I'm not holding my breath!

Everton 2 - 1 Wigan.

I'll take that. We don't half make it bloody hard for ourselves though. We hammered Wigan for a full 80 minutes and were cruising, then one lapse in concentration and we make the last 5 minutes a lot more difficult than they had to be.

And Beattie scored for the blades! Come on the fat man!

You do know where a cockney is from, right?

Forest drew today, at home to Bournemouth, we need a striker desperately as Tyson is out for a month or so.

3-1 victory away first up for Big Sam. I'm very pleased with our performance and I'm glad we can rely on Harper in the absence of Shay Given. Harps looked solid in goal when he was called upon, there was nothing he could do about Anelka's goal. It was a good finish from him. Geremi is our new captain and that's a good choice in my opinion. He's solid in midfield and can also play in defence if needed. Rozenhal sounded solid in defence and once him and Taylor get a good understanding we'll finally have a solid defence to challenge against the better sides.

I also hear Tit-arse Bramble had something to do with the two goals Wigan conceded today, good to hear he's still living up to his reputation...

Yes yesy yes!

Come on Sunderland! [rude word] those [rude word] Spurs!

I went to see Leicester and i have to say they were crap. Well they weren't crap they were amazing but they were crap at the same time. Blackpool scored when Leicester had a player injured but they were completely right to do so. They only had 1 chance all game however compared to Leicesters 100's. Blackpools keeper is quality :D Watched keano win that was quality,he's a legend. Man City look strong and so do Newcastle but football really starts for me tomorrow when the champions of England are playing!

What a goal by Gerrard I can't believe the scousers nicked that in the last minute, they've got the win but not convincingly from what i've been watching

Super goal from Gerrard, that's probably the best free kick I've ever seen, we already have a contender for goal of the season with only one day gone!

The free-kick was good, but you wouldn't be saying it's the best free-kick ever if it wasn't Gerrard who scored it.

Phew...2-1. A deserved win, we dominated despite not playing at our best although you can expect that with some new players. Torres played alright, him and Kuyt linked up well throughout and for the first goal. Gerrard and Carragher were typical, Gerrard running the game (shooting was a bit wayward occasionally) and Carra confident. Gave away a pen though the ball skidding onto his hand letting Barry equalise.

Gerrard burst through the middle and was blocked off, the rest is history :D
