Richards and Cole did well, the rest were bad. Beckham and Owen clearly not match fit, Lampard scored but should've had 3, Robbo was awful with the goal and the flap at the free kick.

My team for Israel game.

James

Richards
Terry
Ferdinand
Cole

Hargreaves
Gerrard
Beckham
Cole

Owen
Smith

I thought Smith held the ball up quite well last night.

I don't think we should blame Mclaren for losing this friendly, that was clearly Robinsons cock up.
But he picked half fit players, but he may of picked them so they were ready for the qualifiers, but I still struggle to find the logic.
Why he picked a less than half fit Beckham over an inform and lightning fast Wright Phillips, god knows.

IF Owen was match fit and sharp I reckon he would he scored that chance before half time...but I doubt we'll ever see him as sharp as he was.

Mclaren out!

We should have given the job to Big Sam!

Exactly, someone who wasn't a Sven clone and actually did something at club level. As opposed to winning a puppet trophy with 10s of millions to spend.

Big Sam wouldn't be interested, you dont get bungs for players at international level :p

You have to give a fair amount of blame to the defender who cleared, just before Robinson's mistake, (Shorey I think). As my nephew's football coach says 'When you have to clear the ball, kick it to Mars!'

you'll struggle even with crouchy in da team

Crouch should not play for England. As soon as we put him on, long ball, long ball!! Long ball!!!!

That's not his fault...his scoring rate shows he's capable.

12 goals in 20 caps at a rate of better than a goal every 2 games. He has done everything asked of him

I know, it just seems that having him up front puts everyone else into long-ball mode! I suppose I was being a bit harsh on the guy himself...

True, but you have to look at where a lot of those goals came from, many were from teams that England should beat and beat fairly easily.

I can't decide whether to go see England v Israel, or v Russia next month. Which one would you go for?
