I am annoyed at the comment that no penalties are given at Old Trafford. 3 were given last season and contrary to your rule Matt we also conceded a penalty at Reading for a Neville handball. The handball could have been given but would have been very harsh, certainly not "Cast Iron". The other penalty appeal was laughable! Vida was looking at the ball and Berbatov ran in to him.

Some goal by Nani, some celebration.

And those of you slating United's home support. It is some of the prawn sandwich brigade that let us down, while at my end (Stretford End) the atmosphere is brilliant. Our away fans are immense, the best in the country.

Yeah Spurs deserved at least a point today but we deserved to win our opening 3 games so its about time we had some luck.

Hmmm. No bias at all.

I don't do biased. If I thought it was a penalty, I'd say so. I don't think it was and even if it was, it was a tough one for the ref to give. At the most, it hit a combination of Wes's arm and chest, so how could the ref be sure? Anyway, like you say, PhilD, it's about time we had some luck this season!

COME ON, UTD!!!

Just seen the replay in slow mo and close up on MOTD2. I'm now 100% certain it wasn't a penalty. It hit the left of Wes Brown's chest and rebounded out. I'm 100% certain now.

He got the 2 penalty decisions right today but I didn't rate Howard Webb's performance. Consistently stopping play and not allowing it to flow by not playing advantage. Then cards popping up like a toaster, I mean he booked Giggs for a nothing challenge when it was his first offence.

I'm new to this part of the forums. I am a Newcastle United fan and was wondering if there were any other Newcastle fans who post on these forums.

I saw the apparent handball live and on Match Of The Day 2. My first reaction was that it was not a penalty and it hit Brown on the chest, and seeing the replay only enhanced that opinion. If you ask me, Brown blocked the ball with his chest and Tottenham had no case for a penalty.

He is treated like god amongst the united fans :). Im sure he's gonna get a coaching role somewhere he's a real legend. Wouldnt be suprised if he went to work with keano at Sunderland. Good luck to him :).

Legend. Good guy.

Shame he had to end his career under these circumstances. A least he has the memory of CL Final winner :)

you are my solskjaer
my ole solskjaer
you make me happy, when skies are grey
and Alan Shearer, were (bleeping) dearer
but please don't take my solskjaer away.

I went to the game on sunday and was in a box, apparently they cost something like 100K a year at OT but I wasn't paying so what do i care, I was looking over the standd and the atmosphere was crap, one of the few times i've been in it. The problem is every club has it when your stadium gets big, it allows the club more space for the prawn sandwich boys so they let them all in leaving the proper fans with less of an atmosphere because all the noise comes from 1 place, Arsenal have it at the emirates too, apparently they got told off for singing :p chances are liverpool will have it when they go to their new 70,000 (?) stadium although i'm sure the media will still find something to bum them for, cheslea don't have an atmosphere anyway. Their fans are just nobs

The leicester-forest game was abandoned afetr a leicester player was collapsed at half time, forest were winning too. 5000 leicester fans there and trouble looked more than likely but perhaps this puts things in perspective.

not a good time to be a footballer right now:

Neil McCann-Double leg break
Antonio Puerto-Collapses on the pitch, walks off, and collapses again in the dressing room, dies in hospital (RIP) [legspinner@fred]
Kieron Dyer-Suspected leg break
Clive Clarke-Collapses with 'serious illness @ half time
Ray Jones-Killed in a car accident (RIP) [Leicester Fox]
