Antonio Puerto-Collapses and dies on the pitch (RIP)

Now, he didn't die on the pitch, he walked off the pitch and died 2 days later, in some ways that makes it worse, a maybe more tragic, to watch him walk off the pitch, looking to have recovered, only to collapse in the dressing room.

Thanks for all you've done for us, Ole, you were so unlucky with injuries and I wish you every success for the future. Thanks for '99 mate!:)

Such a shame! :( How old was he? RIP, Antonio Puerto.

Just turned 22. Real Madrid were planning on making a bid for him and he'd recently made his debut for Spain. Such a shame.

99 still leaves me on the verge of tears of joy every time i see it. Just sticking that boot out :D "Beckham, into Sheringham AND SOLSKJAER HAS DONE IT!!!!" :D:D:D:D I say we retire the number 20 shirt, he won us the treble and its not like anyone likes the number anyway

I celebrated so....intensely, that I tweaked my shoulder a bit!! Hasn't been the same ever since, though!!!!!

And I agree, retire the No.20, frame it and hang it in the Hall of Fame!

being only 7 at the time I didn't immediately experience the brilliance of that second goal. The first one i went mental and mydad picked me up and started running around with me in the air, both of us screaming. the second i went in and i thought "oh,now i won't be allowed to stay up as late as theres no extra time" Then it hit me we'd won the treble and i just went mental jumping up and down. Funny how you can remember it so vividly when half the time i can't remember what day of the week it is!

My memory from that night was Schemeichal cartwheeling across the Nou Camp ground and at the same time Clive Tydlesley saying "They have reached the promised land". I remember feeling distraught when they scored the opener from the free kick but just sheer delight at our winner. I started liking football and supporting United at the start of that season, so some start!

Yeah, retire the no.20 shirt in his honour.

I remember that game, I wanted United to win but when Ole scored I simply sat there and continued to nibble on a biscuit:D

I was still on a bit of a low, Rovers had just gone down:(

Anyhow, we're doing well now, on course to finish above United J/K:D

I can dream..

Haha I remember watching the game, I was a United fan at the time. I was sitting on the floor in front of the TV and I remember just going mental and jumping round as soon as it went in :).
What made you switch to the sky blues then?

I remember watching, and going 'meh' before putting the TV on mute to shut Clive 'That night somewhere where someone beat someone else, and did I mention that I support Liverpool' Tydlesley up.

I wouldn't mind if Clive Tydlesley didn't mention that game in every single match he commentates in.

To be fair its probably the most remarkable acheivement over the course of 1 season ever, certainly by an English side. So it does deserve a mention :p

Leicester boss Martin Allen has paid tribute to the club's medical staff for their treatment of defender Clive Clarke, who collapsed on Tuesday.
Clarke, 27, is thought to have suffered two heart failures at half-time in the Carling Cup match at Nottingham Forest.

He was treated with a defibrillator in the dressing room and spent the evening in a "stable" condition in hospital.

:) Glad to hear he's getting better but lets hope we dont get another puerta. RIP Puerta, get better Clarke :).
