I don't think I've ever seen Atkinson have a good game as a referee. He's an awful official.

True and what makes it worse is that he clear got the ball first and Mr.Atkinson was right in front of the challenge and somehow didn't realize that.

Also that ball that Ivanovic cleared in the second half that crossed the line is just another example of why we have to get technology in football. This is gone beyond the realms of ridiculous now.

I'm under the assumption that such goal-line technology will ruin the flow of the game if say, an incident were to happen then what? If the opposing team retrieves the ball will they not be allowed to go on the counter-attack? Do we instead have to halt play immediately to refer the decision?

Its probably just my lack of knowledge but I do wouldn't like to have goal-line technology embedded into the game. I love the controversy. Hand of God anyone?

The way we were playing, had that nonsense of a 'goal' been disallowed, we might well have beaten Argentina that day - and I'm sure we would've gone on to beat Germany. Cheating little muppet - always has been, always will be.

As for no goal line tech - yes Germany were by far the better team in 2010 but even their own players admitted that if the goal had pulled it back to 2-2, anything could've happened. England wouldn't have needed to go flying forwards so much either. If goal line tech is available, we must use it. End of.

De Gea, Smalling, Jones, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Fletcher, Giggs, Young, Park, Welbeck

WTF?

FINALLY, a home league win against Everton! And Mata was just a class act in the game.

As for the earlier game, United were definitely fortunate to escape with a point from Anfield.

Precisely my thoughts, the only logical explanation is the CL game midweek

Or maybe, SAF is worried about the number of chances that have been conceded in recent United games.

Carragher and Enrique both had great games. Carragher didn't seem to be fazed by the pace of the United players and was almost always in the right place at the right time to make the tackles. Enrique was fantastic and linked up with Downing so well. Downing himself was brilliant and was a constant threat. His ball to Kuyt in the 2nd half was sublime. Gerrard as a holding midfielder did well. Didn't bomb forward all that much. Don't know if that's because that's his new role or because he's just easing back into things. He still had a great game though and his delivery (especially from set pieces) was first class. Adam made 2 great runs- one to set up Suarez in the first half when Suarez was one-on-one with Evans and the 2nd to get the freekick. Apart from that, he was decent but his inability to do anything with his right foot makes him very predictable. Suarez was inspirational as usual. Great movement, awareness and desire. Henderson looked good when he came on, especially to win the ball back from Nani which I thought was great. He missed an easy header but I won't hold it against him. He had a good game.

Thought Rio got the better of Suarez in that game.

Very disappointing performance. The tactics were cautious and they still weren't solid defensively. Jones in the centre of midfield was a mistake - how many times did Adam get past Jones and move into the big space between mid and defence? He did this in his run when he won the freekick for the goal.

Only positive was Utd's actual defence. Rio won the battle against Suarez and if it wasn't for the poor defending to give away the freekick that Gerrard scored from, I'd have said he was the man of the match. Evra also stepped up for the big game once again. Brilliant to see how he's evolved from when he first came to the inspirational captain of the team. De Gea had another fantastic game - everyone keeps banging on about how he's vulnerable. He's shown that he clearly isn't and has been superb of late. Also credit to Jonny Evans. Hasn't been talked about much this season with the spotlight being on Jones and Smalling but he's been really solid whenever he's played.

Utd really missed Rooney's guile though. There was no penetration in the final third and no one really looked like scoring. I'd go as far to say that Man Utd were lucky to draw.

Bit disappointed with Giggsy - Gerrard didn't even hit the ball that well - if he had stayed where he was, I'm pretty sure he stops that and we leave Anfield with three points. Still, a good point overall.

One thing United performance showed today is that they are not as invincible as some may think.

Their mid-field even when Cleverely returns still looks soft to me. They could still win the league, but i think teams like Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool, Tottenham in future battles, could feel they can be exploited in those area's as the season progresses.

This is where i feel a lack of a truly outstanding mid-fielder like Sneijder is lacking for United still. SAF can correct this in January however.

Evra accusing Suarez of racism? The guy is just a big baby. Clutching at straws...

Arsenal can exploit it too :mad.

Haha.

If City are keen to buy RVP, then they must be seriously just a money and reputation caring club. :facepalm
