I wonder if Kenny Dalglish ever regret selling Meireles. He could have at least given Liverpool another midfield option with Gerrard out injured.

Indeed. Meireles was an absolute gem for us last season, wonder why KD ever wanted to get rid of him!?!?

Meireles + Aquilani >>> Adam + Henderson.

He went because his contract was due to expire and he no longer wanted to stay. Good business for Liverpool, bad business for Chelsea.

Why didn't he want to stay any longer?

'Cause he had the lowest wages amongst our squad, and the owners and KD were firm in their decision to have his wage retained for this season. Which isn't particularly fair, considering he was the fan's PFA player of the year.

Terrible business for Liverpool, no comments on Chelsea's.

Bad business for Chelsea? Reason? He may not be like the best ever buy for us but he is certainly a decent one. Furthermore, he provides something different to our midfield and add another extra player to our squad especially after we decided to loan out Benayoun to Arsenal for whatever reason!

Bad business? He's a really important player for Chelsea when you consider that Lampard doesn't have the engine that he used to have. Being able to rotate Meireles into the side is very useful and he's exactly the type of player Chelsea needed at the time - someone who played high tempo, direct football.

Bad news for us - City are now a good team: it also transpires they're an extremely jammy team as well. How QPR didn't come out of that with a point is beyond me. :facepalm

Had QPR defended better, they would have gotten a point at the very least.

It's time for the international break. Then Man City have Newcastle, Napoli, Liverpool, Bayern, Chelsea and Arsenal. That pretty much rounds out the rest of the year, with only one week for a break against Norwich which should test their depth as it is 4 days before Munich meaning they will rest some key players.

Don't worry guys, by new year's, City will have fallen apart to some extent. They have a difficult draw for this time of the season, it's going to be a tough winter for them. Personally, I don't see them getting past it too well. Overall, I think any one of the top 6 has a chance at the title. I wouldn't dare try and predict how it'll finish.

It's the sort of thing potential champions tend to do, not play particularly well but still grind out results. Quite omnious.

Manchester City will host Newcastle after the international break before traveling to Anfield to face Liverpool. In between those games, City will face Napoli in the Champions League. So, there is a high possibility that City may finally slip up at Anfield. That will also depend on Kenny Dalglish getting his team selection and approach right.

Added to the fact they hit the woodwork at least twice!

Anyway, enough about that joke club (City, not QPR - at least QPR are a real club) how about renaming the stand after Sir Alex Ferguson? A fitting tribute to the man - best manager ever. Now all we need is someone to mod that into Fifa 12. :D

To quote Ryan Taylor on our fixtures of City, Man U and Chelski, "Looking ahead to the next three fixtures, Taylor added: "Nine easy points there!""

Newcastle to be top of the league on Christmas Day ;)

We've just had an absolutely murderous run of fixtures.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool and Newcastle (and Fulham) in our last 7 matches.
