Good battling win from us yesterday - it's great that we're not conceding any goals as well. Now all we need is for the other bunch of muppets to have their blip...

I couldn't believe that stat about United giving away more chances than any other side in the league.
City will have a bad run because they've not been in this situation before. I reckon Liverpool at home is a must-win for Chelsea as well.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dire game, nobody played particularly well. The fact that Glen Johnson won MOTM sums it up. He was terrible for the majority of the game.

After that win, I can only say that we're incredibly unpredictable this season! Obi Mikel was thee 12th man for us. :D

Chelsea should get rid off the oldies. AVB has done nothing in terms of buying new players, just Mata who has been sensational and Miereles who has been good in patches. Chelsea need a playmaker some one who could increase the speed in midfield.

What is Chelsea best team so far this season? Does AVB himself knws it?

Simple. No! His constant rotation for every game tells you that and it's not really not helping the players in terms of forming a solid understanding and cohesion with one another.

Miereles who has been good in patches.

Can't be helped. Hardly getting a run of games under his belt at the moment. There is just no continuity in the starting XI.

Last Tuesday, I went to see Cambridge City play Brackley Town. Brackley won 3-2. It was ace.

It's not the rotation that's the problem, it's the players he has at his disposal. The majority aren't right for his system. But then reverting back to the old system means trying something that's clearly broken.

Well put..

I'm a Chelsea fan who makes no excuses,, we are just not good enough,, the squad has needed a clearout and starting from scratch for 3-4 years now..

Either stick with AVB for the next 3-4 years no matter what, or let him go and get Hiddink and give him time to build again..

Cant see us getting near city for a while now... and in all honesty im cool with that.. they are better simple as that.. times change and theres nothing you can do about it..

40m+ offer for Modric this summer indicates that. But that shouldn't bother them, They got Sturridge, who can ease his way to the box, and maybe about time all things close down on Fernando Torres' form now, too rash to say but Drogba should be given the top spot ahead of Torres in this part of the league. Maybe time to try an unlucky 4-3-3, Put Drogba/Anelka, Sturridge and Kolou/Torres upfront while Lampard, Mata and Obi/Ramires/Meireles with their standard defence deployed. Chelsea will probably have a better time next year around with Essien coming back and some new and great transfers, hopefully.

I think that post says it all KBC.

Drogba is just too old now, or at least seems like it. Has never looked the same since recovering from Malaria. He used to destroy people like Carragher to the point it was actually embarrassing at times, now he just doesn't seem effective.

Then there's Anelka, who if people are honest is never gonna be a title winning striker again, just not clinical enough. Kalou? Really? If anything, I'd say he's actually worse now than when he joined Chelsea! Obi Mikel still has a couple of years to develop into the defensive midfielder role, but another who hasn't developed quite like people expected.

Then there's Ramires and Meireles, both good players but if you want to be a top club they are squad players at best. Would any other top club in Europe go out of their way to buy them?

Of course, then there's Lampard and Terry, who have both seen better days, and are no longer at a level where they can form the core components of a title winning side.

Personally, I think Chelsea are in an interesting predicament, because they can't trump people for wages anymore, they aren't defending any titles, their stadium isn't the biggest and their assets are actually bordering on hindrances in terms of having people like Lamps or Terry who can't be moved on for big money to help fund further investment. Even Cole has been playing with a buggered knee for a couple of years and is pretty much worth nothing anymore.

Essien is quite rightly key, and it says it all that whenever he's been injured (which has been too often) they often fall away or get knocked out.

Good point but they can't keep waiting any longer for Torres to fire. They have enough forwards already, the age is a secondary question and i doubt they'd make a move for a striker in January. If they do, someone is clearly going out. They need to spice up their midfield, and AVB indicated he's not moving for Modric again. Rumor has it that he's aiming for Newcastle's Tiote. Seems like a good move.

I'm starting to wonder what Man city's scouting system is like..... Steal other clubs' shortlists? is that it? xD

Ha. If you're a big club, there is almost certainly not a single player in football that you haven't got some kind of report on.

To be honest, they barely even need scouts, just wait until someone is about to move and turn up with twice the pay packet.

Do you know what, good luck to them :) I think they've made the likes of Man U and Chelsea really think about what they're spending their money on and in turn it has made the rest of the Prem more interesting... basically, we might even steal third at this rate! COYS! :)
