Wow arsenal 2 liverpool 0. Great way to open their account in this season by beating liverpool at anfield. What the hell this livpool boys are doing at thier home ground :mad

Giroud missed a sitter out there, I'm hardly convinced about this guy's success like I stated before. A Lewandowski could've been a better choice. Atleast nice to see Podolski playing well.

Cazorla's nice as usual, Diaby had a good game out there. Maybe there's decent hopes of Europa League matches out there for Arsenal after all.......

Lewandowski would've been better, but he would've been 20 m+. Giroud was easily the best option on the market in Arsenal budget. Problem with Giroud is his lack of pace really seems to be affecting him. We need him, if he still hasn't scored in a couple of months, then maybe we can start passing proper judgement.

Lot of positives there. All of a sudden Wenger looks smart to have not gone for a midfielder, as both Ramsey and Diaby looked fine. Jenkinson is no Sagna, but he is good enough for second choice easily. Mannone deserves to be 2nd choice now, some good saves and looks to have a decent command of his area too.

Still not at all convinced by either Gibbs or Santos though. Ox as well was poor, but he's young so I'll let him off and anyway Gervinho and Walcott can take his place easily.

A good option would be to push Vermaelan to the LB and let Koscielny and Mertesacker pair-up in the centre.

We're becoming a zombified version of Arsenal last season. Or should I say RvP FC.

RvP is a great signing for sure, but our defence - even with Rio and Vidic in harness is looking very shaky. Hopefully a few more games will allow them to 'gel' again.

Typical never-say-die Utd though. :)

Midfield seriously seems to lack balance. Until Scholes came on, Utd were really struggling with the ball in the middle and were being completely bypassed on counters.

Yeah, have to agree with that. Scholes changed the game - but we will not be able to rely on him too much longer. The midfield and defence are concerning me somewhat right now - but luckily for us, our main rivals are also consistently leaking goals and it'll cost them from time to time as it did against Liverpool.

Ye shows of legendary Scholes is, he should be in an all-time England Football XI.

But i'm backing Carrick/Cleverly and Kagawa to be better as the seasons progresses, since fact is Scholes effectively as well all know is being aided by the fact that his game time is being managed carefully.

Really exciting stuff. I guess Wenger wasn't being senile when he put so much faith in Diaby, and said he is easily the first choice in midfield for France.

Shades of a lot of French and PL greats there. If he can keep it up and more importantly stay away from injury, it'll be huge for us.

We need a new GK and a striker. So straw-clutchy at the moment that I'd even take Michael Owen in a heartbeat! :rolleyes

Second howler from Reina in as many games (2nd leg of our Europa League tie against Hearts being the other).

Sterling and Joe Allen are our gods, literally.

missing sitters isn't really a big concern early on, in the grand scheme of things. of course it's annoying as there are dropped points, lost game etc but as long as he keeps getting in goal scoring positions it will be a matter of getting his confidence up. if it goes on then it becomes an issue but give him some settling time, he's a proven finisher and while his speed, movement, strength and intelligence will be more thoroughly tested in england, putting the ball in the back of the net is pretty much the same no matter where you play and he can do that.

torres was not missing sitters when he first joined chelsea, he was simply anonymous on the pitch.

What have you made of Gerrard this season? Been pretty dire everytime I've seen him.

Yep, has had a pretty poor start to the season, struggling to cope up with Rodgers' system. Awful against West Brom and Arsenal, average against Man City. Hopefully comes good sooner than later.
