While in general i agree, when it comes to elite world football sides, i would say the administrators and fans of those clubs rather beat teams the barca way - than the stoke city way.

When Capello was coach of Madrid he got sacked even though he won the league, because the executives and large portions of the fans didn't like the style.

We are already seeing this season how Abrahomovic has revamped Chelsea to play more attractively, even though they finally won the champions league for him playing "park the bus" football.

Your stoke city's and evertons of the world would surely be happy to stay in the league playing that sort of football, since their fans know that they can never win the premiership.

But i don't think Arsenal fans for eg, a team regularly praised this decade for being the barca of the premiership (although some of that aura has gone) - would accept winning the league playing defensive football.

lol. we have been playing excellent football this season. at one point (before they had a man sent off) at swansea we had 60% of the possession. Lumping everton in with stoke is nonsense.

Yeah, he has a contract till January.

*Whistles* The precision of that Mata freekick was just sublime, 7 in 7 for him now, in cintilating form. Impressed by Osc?r and the way he's been threading in and out of the Man U defence and whipping in some sweet deliveries into the box.

Ha didn't even know Hitzelsperger was at Everton, but he's in the squad.
Lol, is he? I remember when he was at Villa and we dubbed him 'The Hammer'. That left foot of his...

Fell asleep at HT but wow. I'm really not sure if Suarez meant to celebrate in Everton's faces but if he did, that's ridiculously stupid.

Feel sorry for the big man, any other day Torres would've got away with it, that's a dive no match to what we've seen so far in PL. Not too sure about Ivanovic's dodge, he just trapped himself against the wrong man.

League is back in balance now, as it were. Gets better every week. Looking forward to the Arsenal-United derby, potentially throwing and reminding pieces of debacle and fight back from Last season. Should be a typical Classic.

he was on trial an playing for the reserves for about 3 weeks. fellaini got injured and signed him within a few days.

we were woefully short on CM cover before the seasons started and moyes decided Fellaini had to be an unorthodox number 10.

Clattenberg is obviously a joke. At least he would have sent off Suarez had he been refereeing the Everton game for that appalling foul on Distin.
I can't remember watching many Merseyside derbies in recent years where we're so clearly the better team. Take away Suarez and Gerrard and Liverpool have a very bare cupboard.
2-2 wasn't a fair reflection but considering the "goal" at the end we can't complain too much!

i have no idea what to make of the game.

i spent the entire 2nd half completely baffled by liverpool sitting back with 3 centre backs trying to use pace on the counter.

for all my life we have been the team defending and trying to overcome a skill gap through hard work and guts. today they set a formation and style of playing as if they were the inferior side.

it makes no sense.

yeh but all 3 times last season (except maybe the home game) we were supposedly the better side in better form.

and all 3 times i went to the ground (pessimistic as a default) but curious to see if the pattern of the game would reflect the shift in perceptions

and all 3 times i left the ground calling the players and moyes shithouses with inferiority complexes.

Well just to be clear i wasn't trying to compare Everton style of football currently to that of stoke. So my bad for not articulating that properly.

Clattenburg in recent years has been involved in fairly contentious decision making in big games. He really should not be officiating in big matches anymore.

Also a slight observation on crowd behaviour in the derby and man utd vs chelsea clash.

Why in god's name are chelsea fans still booing Ferdinand. That was so disgusting.

Plus why are fans throwing things at players. Dont care how much Suarez riled up everton fans that uncalled for and i noticed some stuff was throw at hernandez and co when united scored the 3rd goal.

Ridiculous tribalism :facepalm
