What you think about Veratti @ PSG?. I haven't seen him play, but some saying he could be Pirlo's long term replacement?

He sure is. Terrific prospect, who's endured a sublime start to his PSG career, especially in the Champions League where he's looked phenomenal so far. Just needs to be a little more disciplined and matured in his tackling part of the game.

At long last, Wes Hoolahan gets an Ireland call-up. About bloody time.

Love him. How/why he didn't start against Liverpool I'll never know..

Hoolahan was a player I'd have loved to see us sign from Blackpool way back when. Superb talent.

Tonight's results:

Chelsea 5-4 Manchester United (AET)
Liverpool 1-3 Swansea City
Norwich City 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur :):)

And the quarter-final draw:

Bradford City v Arsenal
Leeds United v Chelsea
Norwich City v Aston Villa :lol
Swansea City v Middlesbrough

We are into our first cup QF for 17 years and we get to 'welcome' Lambert back to Carrow Road. Looking forward to it.

Hotspurs and LFC out :D
Manchester United out :(
Here is the draw for Quarter Finals

Leeds vs Chelsea
Swansea vs Middlesbrough
Norwich vs Villa
Bradford vs Arsenal

Have seen better defending in league one matches that what i've seen in the arsenal vs reading and united vs chelsea games. :facepalm

i was away when he left getting very drunk every day, but i find it difficult to imagine the way he left could have been so unsavory as to completely overshadow the 2 promotions and then getting prem survival

I'm very grateful for his work with us but he left in acrimonious circumstances. He didn't go into a top job like Liverpool or Spurs, he took a sideways step to Villa and he's also suing us for breach of contract. A lot of us just want to make a point and get one over on him.

I'm gutted for you. :p

So, Ben, Big Mick? What do you think?

Yeah boom, happy with the appointment; the first hiring I've not been underwhelmed by since Joe Royle.

Absolutely so happy with the way he left Nodge...I'm a mate of the Col U chairman and he left the scummers the same way he left United so this is literally just karma.

That said, Villa are flucking awful, I hope they go out of all cups and get relegated.

Exciting football but the standard of defending just gets worse every season. You used to be able to trust Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal to be solid at the back but not any more.

That all has to do with personnel there as well though.

Man Utd were extremely solid when they had Ferdinand at his prime and a Vidic who wasn't injured every couple of months. You can't expect someone like Jonny Evans to match them at their prime. At full back they again had better personnel like Evra at his peak and Neville and all, now a declining Evra and Rafael will never be as good as guys like them.

Arsenal the same, Adams and Campbell are of a different class to guys like Djourou and Vermaelen, Cole as well is much better.

Chelsea happen to have a clown in David Luiz at the back as well and a declining Terry. You can't expect a clown like him to be too good.

I don't think there's anything wrong with their defences, it's just they need better players there as opposed to the current inexperienced or declining guys they have there.

But there aren't much good defenders hanging around too at the moment. That's where the problem lies.
