6th November, the greatest and the most special day in the history of Manchester United and football as a game. Sir Alex Chapman Ferguson took charge of Manchester United on 6th September 1986. He served United for 26 years and is still serving the club.

The Greatest Manager in the history of football. May you Live Long Sir Alex Ferguson.

"I'd like to apologise to supporters who felt aggrieved by it. Did I think it would cause such a commotion? Of course I didn't, otherwise I would have told Robin to exchange the shirts away from public view.

The smart thing to say would have been that he wouldn't have done it at all. But, he is a footballer after all.

This would be mine:

--------------Friedel---------------------
Rafael--Cahill--Vertonghen--Baines
Mata----Cazorla---Fellaini-----Hazard
--------Suarez---Van Persie------------

Probably Bale over Hazard, but there you go..

That would most likely be mine, Bale over Hazard yeah and Jaaskalainen over Friedel.

If there is something wrong with players not shaking hands before a match, there surely must be something wrong with swapping shirts.

Is there something wrong with players swapping shirts now?

No, there isn't. But he didn't say he would have done it at full time instead. He just said he would have still done it at half time but in the tunnel.

Either way, much smaller issue than it's being made out to be. I just don't like Santos very much.

However i see no evidence of this applying the Gerrard. The man is still playing very well. He has been adapting well to a deeper mid-field role, passing the ball very well & is still making his trademark runs in the box.

Of the current top 4 premiership teams in champions league positions, i don't see any team right now where Stevie G wouldn't be an automatic starter in mid-field.

He is better than Carrick/Cleverley. He would be a better central mid-field partner for Toure @ City than Milner/Barry/Garcia. And presuming that Ramires is chelsea's best mid-fielder, he is better than Lampard or Mikel.
I doubt it really. He would've been an excellent second striker a few years back for anybody but he doesn't really stand out in this declining midfield role.

He's alright in a midfield trio but the discipline and ability to keep the game ticking over from Allen and Sahin are more important to this evolving Liverpool side than anything the current Gerrard brings to the table, IMO.

Well fair enough if you think what's in bold. But even if one also feels he is in decline, i don't think its so glaring currently that it is worth much serious ridicule.

Get in Andi Weimann!!! 1-0 to the Villa against United. Absolutely loving this!

As lovely as Scholes/Carrick look in mid-field (especially Scholes), passing the ball and controlling the tempo of the game. Added to the electric wing play and movement of RVP & Rooney up front.

The combined slowness of the those two Englishmen in engine room and inability to be proper mid-field defensive shield, is the main reason why United are conceding so much goals this season, far more than any problems in the back-line.

The mid-field was noticeably more solid even though it lost the passing spark, when Cleverley & Anderson came on.

So i think SAF doesn't need to take that risk to play Scholes/Carrick together, its causing unnecessary problems.
