That perhaps applies to Man Utd, but for example if Chelsea want him to replace Cole, money is no object, they'll pay 30 m if they have to and Everton won't reject it. He is perfect for teams with a bottomless bank account.

maybe, but he's 28 and they seem to value bertrand highly. with their tendency to let older players run down their contract i imagine when cole is off they will go for someone younger. City i guess are most likely to go for him, but they are playing 3-5-2 a lot and seem happy with kolorov/clihy

From what I read Mancini attacked Ballotelli not vice versa...

Yeah, I don't know why the media is trying to paint Mancini as the victim here.

With Aguero out and Balotelli involved in this stupid spat, Guidetti might just get his City debut on Saturday against Watford.

Either way, they'll never be in one explicitly defined position, either way I'm sure they'll be switching positions all the time. Which is much more dangerous.

I don't get it, Ajax had him(Suarez) as a #10 behind the striker in a 4-3-3?

Yeh confused myself. From what I'd seen, he was an RW/LW in his Amsterdam days, with Huntelaar being the target man.

He's like van Persie now though, he's become a clinical finisher and is hence more comfortable as a number 9.

This. If Brendan Rodgers was smart he'd ask Suarez where he wants to play rather than telling him "blah blah blah you did this at Ajax", because at the end of the day Suarez is you're best player and he needs to be at his best for this club to move forward.

yeah, I don't see the point in meddling with the one position liverpool are genuinely world class. tottenham used to play modric all over the place, then redknapp came in and put back in his favourite position, hey presto, tottenham begin competing with the best teams in the league.

surely if you need a no.10 you buy a no.10 for ?15m, you don't buy a back up to your best player and then play your best player out of position.

Well they'll test it out I'm sure, Suarez could still be very capable in a role where he isn't quite the main focal point.

A switch to 4-4-2 could work as well. Though fitting Gerrard, Allen and Lucas in wouldn't work I suppose.

Liverpool should've really bought Ramirez IMO, cracking player and would work perfectly in a number of positions.
